I generally agree with Warren on these kinds of things but I don’t understand why she always hits tariffs in every. single. post. on inflation despite there being no evidence tariffs contributed meaningfully to inflation. She’s smarter than this. I don’t get it.

$75 barely covers a tank of gas, let alone a cart of groceries. This inflation adjustment falls way short of making up for the high costs of Trump’s war with Iran and chaotic tariffs. Congress needs to scrap the cap and expand benefits for our seniors.

Actually, the NY Fed just did blame tariffs for most price increases over the past year.

Trump abandoned substantially all the tariffs. Prices never came down. It’s just not a tariff story.
