What NOT to do with your Zcash:
When you cut a winner to chase after greener pastures, a lot of the time you're cutting a higher conviction position.
You believe in it, but want exposure to this other coin because you think it'll go up for a bit, and then you can sell the new coin and buy back more of the high conviction bag!
Boom, you buy the shiny new coin and it does a 2X while your old one is down 5%.
You feel like a genius, but you're pissed you didn't buy more of the new coin.
So you sell a bigger chunk of what was your higher conviction bag and buy more of the new coin.
The new coin is up another 20% and your old bag is down another 10%.
You *are* a genius.
until...
you go to sleep and all of a sudden the new coin is down 40%, but that doesn't matter because you're still up a bit!
and your old "high conviction" bag is now up 15% on the day...
perfect you think
you can sell a bit of the slow, old bag and ape the dip on the new one because dips are for buying and it'll surely keep outperforming!
you've now exited more than half of the OG bag you meant to stack more of originally
the new coin slowly bleeds over the next few days back to just beneath your initial entry, and the OG coin is now up another few %... so the OG one is basically still breakeven
but here's the mental aspect of it!
you know that you can't exit the new one that's down at a loss... your initial goal was to OUTPERFORM, so you just decide to full stack the OG bag and ape fully into the new coin
that'll buy you some time because it puts sell pressure on the OG and helps boost your new bag!
but... the new one just keeps bleeding...
it's been another week, and it's now down 70%.
the OG bag you sold?
it's up 20%... nothing sexy, but you now have only 25% of the USD you would have had if you would have just held....
NOW YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT BACK
You feel like you've been rugged on the new one (you most likely have), so you cut it and full stack this other coin you see pumping because you *need* to just pull a quick 4x (lol) to catch back up and then you'll gladly sell it and buy back the OG high conviction bag.
but the new, new one you buy immediately loses 50%.
WTF
Do you sell? You can't buy more because you have no more capital do to that with...
No, it has to come back.
But it doesn't.
It bleeds until you're down 80%...
Meanwhile, the OG one goes up another 10%...
You now have LESS THAN 5% OF THE USD YOU WOULD HAVE HAD IF YOU WOULD HAVE JUST HELD.
You shredded yourself to pieces because you got greedy.
You just take the USD you have left, deposit it in the bank, and you quit.
Over the next few weeks, the OG high conviction bag you originally believed in pulls a 20X.
You hate everything about crypto.
The world is a scam, and it's out to get *YOU*.
You don't take accountability.
You don't learn anything.
You're stuck in the poverty cycle forever.
