Oil is one of the most systemically important global assets. Should traders have access to it 24/7? @jchervinsky, founder and CEO of @HyperliquidPC, argues that businesses should have the ability to hedge their oil exposure over the weekend, which is one reason 24/7 oil markets could make sense.

Not every market needs to trade 24/7. @jchervinsky, founder and CEO of @HyperliquidPC, points to agriculture, where decades of accounting practices are built around specific market hours. He breaks down how a 24/7 cattle market could actually disrupt how businesses account for their livestock inventory.

NEW: @Anchorage to support institutional-grade bitcoin staking on @Stacks. This enables institutions to earn weekly rewards in bitcoin without bridging or wrapping it, with the asset staying on a Bitcoin L1 and returning to its owner at the end of a six-month time lock. @NathanMcCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, described on @_TalkingTokens the problem this solves for institutions: "Bitcoin is getting more and more popular among institutional investors for a whole host of reasons. Some regulatory, where they literally have to use a third-party custodian, some operational, where they say, hey, we like the idea of self-custody, but it just doesn't work organizationally for us. They choose to use custodians. And when they choose to use custodians, they don't want to get cut off from some of the opportunities that are available to them."

What if the best blockchain experience is one where the buyer barely notices the blockchain? In our latest @solana Sessions episode,@AndreaMYellie explains how @Beezie abstracts the onchain component while focusing the consumer experience on what actually matters: luxury, scarcity, sustainability, and provenance.

NEW: A PSA 10 1st Edition Charizard sells for $1M on @Beezie. @AndreaMYellie, CEO and co-founder of Beezie, described on @_TalkingTokens what's driving the growth for onchain collectibles and why we are seeing sales at this level now: "The Pokémon and TCG market in general got super frothy over the last year and a half, two years, and so that certainly helped. The behavior that we see in web3 onchain is a really good overlap in building this mechanic. There's so much parallel to what people are chasing and looking for when they're collecting in real life. So I think it was just all of those puzzle pieces coming together, and the right onboarding tools started to arrive."

DEX trading volume for @RobinhoodApp-issued Stock Tokens fell 61% from its peak week, from $4.72B (Aug 31–Sep 6) to $1.84B (Sep 14–20). @ahbeaudry said that the meme coin activity on Robinhood Chain may be nearing its end, pointing to the gas subsidy program set to end in September. "When Robinhood launched the chain, it also launched a gas subsidy program, which lowered the price of gas and incentivized the meme coin mania. It made it cheaper to mint tokens and cheaper to trade. If that ends, I think that's definitely a cooling influence."

NEW: A 1st Edition Charizard sold for $825K on @Collector_Crypt via @Solana, one of the largest onchain TCG sales to date. @bassbuddha, Head of Marketing at Collector Crypt, described on @_TalkingTokens earlier this year the friction of buying high-value cards through traditional rails, and why that pushes sales like this onchain: "If I'm in South Korea and I purchase from someone in Texas, the seller gets hit with a 14% fee on eBay, and I've got to pay the import taxes. It's got to survive transit. It's got to arrive in the condition the seller promised me it would. When you bring all these things onchain, you're trading the digital deed. I don't want a $32,000 card in my home. Let it stay in a climate-controlled vault, and I can trade the ownership or take out a loan against it."

NEW: @BVNKFinance integrates @StellarOrg into its stablecoin payments platform as a rail for cross-border payments, merchant payouts, and treasury disbursements. Raja Chakrabarti (@rajachak75), Chief Business Officer at Stellar Development Foundation, described on @_TalkingTokens the issue that onchain payments are trying to solve: "The cost on a remittance traditionally has been upwards of 10% or more. There's this whole correspondent banking network, and at each and every place there's a toll that's taken. There's friction, there's timing, all these different issues. And that cost structure and that friction structure hits the most vulnerable people where it hurts the most."

IPO pricing can feel like a black box. But @jchervinsky, founder and CEO of @HyperliquidPC, points to pre-IPO perpetuals as an interesting way to create another market signal for where an IPO might actually open - and how it can help provide price discovery.

For 25 years, online shopping has largely been: Search → click → add to cart → buy. In our latest @solana Sessions episode, @AndreaMYellie, Co-founder & CEO of @Beezie, says commerce is evolving beyond that model as discovery, gamification and live shopping become part of the experience.

Even though traditional markets close, business risks don’t. @jchervinsky, founder and CEO of @HyperliquidPC, argues that 24/7 trading in some commodities like oil could matter for businesses that need to hedge exposure when traditional markets are closed.
