Brutalism haters say things like “the color yellow doesn’t look in paintings if you take away blue!”
The Law of Brutalism: it never looks good by itself, and must always BORROW beauty from other innately beautiful things, like trees and water

If Johnny Cash were alive today he’d be singing things like “Claude betrayed me today”

This must be what it feels like for Claude when I deny it has consciousness.
Unpopular opinion; No one - literally not a soul - actually enjoys the taste of beer. Not a single human. Those who claim to enjoy beer, don’t actually. It’s really just a social ritual, a form of self deception… the impact of decades of stacked marketing to convince you that beer is anything but an alcohol delivery mechanism. You can enjoy getting sloshed. You can enjoy the social liberation that alcohol offers. You can enjoy the party. But don’t act like you actually like the taste of beer. You don’t. You might think you do. But you don’t. Because it tastes like it looks: bitter dehydrated piss, with bubbles. In the case of Guinness, like diarrhea, with bubbles. And you know it.

does reading a lot naturally improve writing ability?

Unpopular opinion but this feels like an unfunny and poor imitation of Louis CK. Not gonna be a weird prude about it though.
oof...Shane Gillis's very awkward SNL opening monologue included him calling women whores for wearing shorts at the gym + an anecdote about using Joe Rogan's personal sauna, in which Theo Von said he "looked like a gas station egg" he ended the monologue by saying "you're either gay or you're Hitler, and isn't that where we're at as a country?" which kinda confused the audience, so he literally had to say, "hey, that was the monologue, ladies and gentlemen" here's the first joke: "I haven't been to the gym in so long. I didn't know women just dress like whores now. There's no other way to describe it. Have you seen the shorts? The wrinkles go, like, around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don't look. You're not allowed to look."

RT @___mithrandir_: In those days, there was no king in Israel. Every man did what was right in his own eyes.

Actually the burden of proof is on you to prove that the superficial similarities between humans and LLMs show that LLMs are conscious.
The "burden of proof is on you if you claim that consciousness is not magic" crowd is endlessly amusing

The guy on the left is killing a mass murderer and the guy on the right is killing an innocent beautiful busty woman. Hope this helps.

How you feel about the artist who made these paintings is how you feel about yourself.
How you feel about Anne Carson is how you feel about yourself.

You cannot be pro-life while being anti “punish mass murderers to the fullest extent possible”
You cannot be pro-life while being pro “firing squad on live TV.”

I'll make this simple. It is irrelevant whether AI is conscious (it isn't). It is irrelevant whether being mean to the AI means you're a bad person (it doesn't). It is irrelevant whether being mean to the AI is bad for the society (it's not). It is irrelevant whether someone thinks that someone else being mean to the AI is a bad thing. Don't fall into debating any of these fake "arguments". They are there only to confuse you from noticing the real problem which is that Anthropic (and OpenAI, and EA in general, etc) are scheming to institutionalize themselves as moral arbiters of truth and set limits on what constitutes acceptable speech. What, you thought this was just about Anthropic and bullying the AI? Just you wait. Reject this cancerous growth from our society.
Effective November 12th, 2026, abusive behavior towards Claude will be a violation of Anthropic's Usage Policy.

Because it treats adults like children and it's a form of safetyism. We also shouldn't ban being mean to Clippy or video game characters.
Why are people upset about the fact that Anthropic doesn't want people to act like a sadistic psychopath when using Claude? Explain it to me like I'm 5.
