A sad story out of Pittsburgh. A doctor who spent his life saving critically ill kids was stabbed to death in his own bed. Dr. Idris Evans, 46, was a pediatric critical care doctor at UPMC Children’s Hospital.
He and his wife Gina woke up to a man in their bedroom with a kitchen knife, that had entered thru an open window. They both fought him, and Gina screamed for their 8- and 12-year-olds to run to the neighbor’s house, which they did.
Idris didn’t make it, and Gina is still in critical condition.
Two children just lost the man who spent his days keeping other people’s children alive.
Pray for Gina and her children 🙏
The man in the ambulance is the suspect a K9 tracked down hiding in the neighborhood.

He was arrested in July. Two felonies. Burglary and theft.
And he was released on a NONMONETARY bond. Not a dime. He just walked out.

THIS is the part that should make people furious.
Dr. Idris Evans dedicated his career to saving critically ill children.
Now he is dead, his wife is critically injured, and their two children have been left traumatized after an attack inside the place they should have been safest—their own home.
Police arrested 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway and charged him with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and other offenses.
But here’s the part I cannot get past:
Hemingway was reportedly already OUT on non-monetary bail in an unrelated burglary case.
How many times are families supposed to pay the price when someone accused of a crime is released back onto the streets?
Gina Evans was stabbed and STILL managed to get her 8- and 12-year-old children out of that house alive.
Those children escaped physically unharmed—but they lost their father and watched their mother fight for her life.
Dr. Evans spent his life trying to save other people's children.
Who was protecting his?

Why do people knowingly lie about lynchings when almost every week some repeat criminal kills some hero like a child's doctor? Why can't we take existing violent crime seriously?
We lose a children's doctor and get to pay for years of incarceration for a guy who will plead not guilty by insanity and have a judge grant him that. All while AOC spreads lynching hoaxes to the masses.
