WASHINGTON DC CARJACKING & ROBBERY SPREE SUSPECTS CONVICTED AFTER SEEN WEARING STOLEN ITEMS ON SOCIAL MEDIA Two D.C. men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for an armed carjacking and robbery spree they committed as teenagers in 2023. Deondre Rogers, 20, was sentenced to 17 years. Hanif Brown, 20, received 14 years. According to prosecutors, the pair: 🔹 Rear-ended a Jeep inside the Third Street Tunnel before pointing guns at its occupants and stealing the vehicle. 🔹 Robbed another victim at gunpoint in Northwest D.C., taking his keys and cellphone before driving away with his vehicle. 🔹 Robbed two people at gunpoint on U Street NW, stealing jewelry, an iPhone, a Louis Vuitton belt, a $40,000 Audemars Piguet watch and a $7,000 Rolex. Prosecutors say Rogers and Brown later appeared in videos, photos and a music video posted to social media wearing the stolen watches. Both pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including carjacking, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. Rogers and Brown were 17 during the crime spree and were prosecuted as adults. U.S. Attorney @JudgeJeanine said the sentences send a message that those who use violence and firearms to “terrorize our community” will be held accountable.
