"Land acknowledgements" make any positive conception of Canada (even the liberal boomer one) impossible. They mandate that the country exist in a perpetual state of neurotic, self-flagellating depression forever. The practice is sadistic and should be categorically rejected.

'Many of the monarchy’s critics accuse it of reminding Canadians that their country was once a colony of the British Empire. How can that possibly be a mark against us? Being connected to a wider civilization that spread the English language, parliamentary ideals, bourgeois habits, forks, and flush toilets across the world is something to be proud of. The quest for a puritan, “liberal democratic” society shorn of all pre-modern character and callbacks to our past is no more than bugmen racing to the bottom of a cave. If Canadian democracy needs any fixes, it does not apply to the King, long may he reign'. My latest for the @nationalpost. nationalpost.com/opinion/geo…

And in one final shocking decision, McAdoo doesn't try and steal second during the Guerrero AB and it costs them the game. Absolutely horrendous.

Jose Soriano getting the Patrick Roy in his final game in Montreal treatment there. Shocking management from John Schneider.

On this date in 2002: The Edmonton Trappers clinch their fourth Pacific Coast League championship in franchise history with a 10-7 win over the Salt Lake Stingers. Jay Canizaro and Lew Ford homered for the Trappers, who left town two years later. ⚾️🇨🇦 albertadugoutstories.com/202…

People cheering this on because being against ‘Colonisation’ is all the rage have no idea what they are talking about. Scotland enacted the act of union in 1707, not England and there was a Scottish king on the throne. This whole idea that Wales, Ireland and Scotland are oppressed by England is lunacy. They all played their part in the empire and have a history of conflict towards each other. Just because England has been the dominant power of these shores and historically the world, doesn’t mean you need to be a bitter crybaby about it.
The leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will gather on Monday to sign a deal designed to kick-start the break-up of the United Kingdom, The Telegraph can disclose. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

25 years ago today, the world changed forever. On September 11, 2001, 2,977 innocent people were murdered in the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. Among them were 24 innocent Canadians. Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the firefighters, police officers, first responders and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage that day, whether they be in New York, New Jersey, or as far away as Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador. We stand with our American neighbours in remembering 9/11, and we will never forget.

Pretty decent actually, better than the new license plates. I like the Alberta shield and that they kept the wooden aesthetic. But I really don't like the removal of "Wild Rose Country" from everything. "Wild Rose Country" is simply a better slogan and much more iconic.
Proud to unveil the new ‘Welcome to Alberta’ border signs! Made by Albertans, for Albertans, with Alberta steel and aluminum. Alberta will always remain strong and free.

Four years ago today, Queen Elizabeth passed away, marking the end of an extraordinary era of service to Canada and the Commonwealth. We remember her with gratitude and affection, while reflecting on the peaceful constitutional transition to King Charles III.

What do the conservatives even want to conserve?
Interesting. Support for Canada to ditch the British Monarchy is higher among conservatives then among Liberals or the NDP. Share your thoughts below 👇🏻
