Unfortunately that’s true. And it’s also less fun and more dreadful than ever before.

This how unemployment will be created, a man does more with Ai and nothing is left for others to do

Definitely not working less. But I get 10x more done in the same amount of time.

AI just means I can get more done, not work less.

When you have AI 1. You can do so many more things 2. You get so much more done 3. You realize you would be totally cooked trying to keep up without AI 4. Muchf what you do with AI is inefficient & wasteful iterating. 5. You have to keep going. The wins are worth it.

I’d say in theory it can. In practice most people who seriously adopt AI start running in multiple new directions that they never would have before, because now they have this new resource to do so. Thus they become more busy. But I’m speculating just based on my personal experience with using AI.

In fact, it feels like everyone is working more

Yep, the standard of output just changes, often with the addition of unnecessary complexity.

If the heavy users just dump more output into the same market, do they pull away or does the price of the work the produce eventually fall and they have to do more of it to make the same money?

Correct but they are accomplishing more in a shorter period of time.

Automation has always just increased our workload

it's because you actually feel like you can accomplish a lot more so you take on a lot more but you're always retooling and re-trying things rather than ever settling on something.

You don't know anyone who has been laid off this year and hasn't found another job? That's what "working less after AI" looks like.

Human are very competitive, AI accelerated production speed but it also increases production quality requirement. More features, more edges, more crunches 😂

🍼 “Adopting” was the warning. Nobody brings home a new dependent and gets more sleep.

The companies all think they should receive 100% of the benefit of AI. But things will change soon.
