Across Hennepin County, neighborhoods are dealing with the consequences of a county attorney with no plan for addressing violent crime. We cannot afford another four years of the status quo. I’ll work with law enforcement and community members and bring people together around a public safety plan.

My statement on the Eden Prairie High School shooting:
Angela and I are thinking of everyone at last night’s Eden Prairie vs. Minnetonka homecoming game, and praying for a full recovery for those who were hurt.
The gun violence we keep seeing is infuriating and unacceptable, and right now the County Attorney has no plan, no strategy, and no communication to solve it.
As a former federal prosecutor and the Acting U.S. Attorney for MN, I have done the work to prevent and prosecute gang and group violence. As Hennepin County Attorney, I will bring that experience to bear and lead from the front.
The status quo approach to public safety is failing our kids, families, and communities. It is time that serious crimes are met with serious consequences. It is time for a real plan and real leadership. It is time for a new day in Hennepin County.
