Recently learnt that the no. of #Bitcoin being mined per block (Bitcoin block subsidy) is = % of total Bitcoin supply being mined during that specific halving. I couldn't find a diagram that explained this notion clearly so I made this. Hope that you guys find this useful 🙏

We are not serious people
We are aware of a security incident on @Liquid_BTC. Purported white-hat hackers have withdrawn ~4,000 BTC (~$320 million) from the Liquid Federation wallet. The @Blockstream team is working on contacting them on-chain with a signed message.
What we know so far is that the funds were withdrawn via the SideSwap PAK (Peg-out Authorization Key), but that key was not compromised, nor were any others.
Exchanges have been notified and have already paused (or will pause) LBTC deposits and withdrawals. Other Liquid assets such as USDT, DePix, and RWAs are unaffected by this security incident.
Bridge nodes have been temporarily disabled, so no new transactions can be submitted to the network. Effectively, the Liquid sidechain is paused until this issue is resolved.
Liquid wallets will be impacted, and we're sorry for any inconvenience. Federation members are actively working on resolving this so we can restore normal network activity.

This release follows three weeks of sustained review since our July 31 hotfix. We continue to acknowledge the customers who suffered severe financial losses from the seed-generation attack.
Every newly generated seed now requires one source of user entropy: at least 65 key presses with unpredictable timing, 50 physical dice rolls, or 128 physical coin flips. This input is combined with fresh entropy from the STM32 TRNG, SE1, and SE2.
The release also adds staged-PSBT verification immediately before signing, stronger USB and firmware-update boundaries, improved Delta Mode isolation, active-wallet backup fixes, stronger RNG initialization and fault checks, safer SIGHASH defaults, and many additional security and correctness improvements.
Important: Updating does not repair an existing seed generated on affected firmware. If the advisory applies to your seed, update your device, generate and verify a new seed, then move your funds.
We strongly recommend that all Mk4, Mk5, and Q users update and verify the signed firmware download.

Cyber security has ALWAYS been an arms race, and if you were slow on the uptake you lost.
AI usage for cybersecurity is the arms race equivalent of armies in WW1 suddenly realizing that machine guns and submachine guns were now vital and not just nice to have.
I’ve seen a lot of “woe is Bitcoin” or “all FOSS is doomed” the past few weeks, meanwhile we as builders now have the best tools EVER to amplify our knowledge of what we build with powerful, agentic cyber security tooling.
We know what we’ve built best, while attackers have to wade through false positives, go down rabbit holes building PoCs for dead ends, etc.
It’s time we step up and become the best at understanding and securing our own code by using cutting edge tools.
A cyber security-centric posture is no longer a nice to have, it’s the difference between life and death as open-source projects and companies building them.
