Have you ever considered how much time and effort you expend each day just to not be scammed?
You assume every call from an unknown number is a scam, so you don’t answer. You can’t even answer calls with your area code, because you know the scammers spoof those.
Any e-mail from an unknown sender, especially if it contains links or attachments, is probably a scam, so you have to mark as spam and delete.
How about the insane number of text messages you have to delete and spam block each day?
And then there’s the mail, which is nothing but scam solicitations for car warranty service or absurd attempts to buy your land for a dollar per acre.
You probably also get hit up by beggars outside stores or on street corners as you drive to work. Or if you have to get a ride, you suddenly have to worry if the Uber or Lyft or cab driver is a scammer.
If you order food for delivery, is it going to show up or will you be extorted into an exorbitant tip to make sure it’s not cold and an hour late? Did the post office really try to deliver that package while you sat in your living room waiting for it all day, or did a lazy driver just lie about that because he didn’t feel like working today?
But wait, there’s more! Every idiot and his cousin now seem to have their own crypto scam coin, not to mention all the precious metal hustlers offering you pennies on the dollar. And don’t get me started on the reverse mortgages designed to steal your parents’ or grandparents’ homes from them.
Plus we have all the new Medicaid and Medicare and hospice and Quality Learing center scams run by foreign gangs and bubblehead cartels, all of which are supported and enabled by the politicians whose palms are getting greased by the scammers.
I swear it feels like half of American life revolves around avoiding the scamming behavior now endemic in our country, and the other half is spent working so half my salary can be sent right to the tax leech scammers responsible for all the insanity.
It wasn’t like this 20 years ago, and it sure as heck wasn’t like this 40 years ago.
The politician who runs for office promising to nuke the foreign call centers, execute the scammers, deport the foreign leeches, and to cut off the 4-5 countries everyone knows is responsible for all the scammery from the Internet entirely would instantly be the most popular American leader in history.
A massive chunk of daily American life revolves around avoiding foreign scammers, and it has to stop. Close the borders, deport the scammers, and nuke the call centers. It’s the most simple formula to political victory possible. We just need someone to finally do it and end the madness.
