I'm not a tribal person. I engage with folks who have different views. Vickie Paladino crosses basic lines of human decency. She trafficks in hate speech. I know it's awkward to shun a colleague, but there have to be limits. No Democrat should engage with her beyond legal duties.

This is not a criticism of any one person. I've seen a number of Democrats play down her horrific words, pal around with her and act like she's some wacky aunt. She isn't. Vickie Paladino is a proud bigot who spreads hate in this city, especially towards Muslims and queer people.
