Phil Collins is projecting when he calls Trump nasty and his manner unattractive. He also doesn’t do himself any favors by floating a song about America called “Fat People With Guns.”
It’s pretty amazing how many entertainers are going out of their way these days to alienate huge swaths of the population by getting overtly political. Collins added that he isn’t a political person, right after saying it wouldn’t surprise him if Trump tried to overrule the two-term limit. Yes, seriously.
Collins said all of this Friday on Piers Morgan Uncensored. It’s backfired, and people on social media are letting him have it. Collins can dislike Trump. That’s fine. What he can’t do is insult the Americans who made him rich and expect those same people to stay fans. Speaking out against Trump and disparaging America hasn’t shrunk Trump. It’s only shrunk the pool of fans who’ll want to come see Collins perform in America.
It’s a shame to see these famous artists waste their reputation by echoing media propaganda.
Collins is showing everyone who he really is, and it’s quite unattractive.
