I have been market making on Kalshi for the last month or so for fun, and sold about 50 million contracts so far. I've been struggling to figure out why the market seems to consistently price Patriots, Ravens, Commanders and Lions lower than I think it should. Tried every method I could to validate my methodology and couldn't crack it. Super frustrating. What do they know that I don't? Finally figred out the incredibly obvious answer - Kalshi is banned in Mass, Maryland and Michigan. I am an idiot.

My experience of building and operating a CFTC predictions exchange is that it's extremely difficult, technical work, operationally intensive in a way that is not obvious, and literally everyone who tries underestimates these aspects of running the business.
