$ETC has no bailout. Code is Law. AI can help review clients like core-geth — but it cannot author an unreviewed release for mission critical software the network depends on. Formal verification + AI can strengthen #blockchain tech — but if you can’t review it, don’t ship it.

If you’re already a competent developer and familiar with a programming language, AI can assist you greatly. On the opposite side, the market is saturated with vibe-coded slop, full of security vulnerabilities. If you can’t review it, you shouldn’t put it in production.

ETC’s relevant act since the fork was not inventing a new consensus gadget every year. It was refusing the DAO bailout and keeping the original ledger. “Code is law” is the product. Everything after that is maintenance of a base layer, not a startup roadmap.

Not a narrative. A structural fact — and a structural opportunity. @eth_classic’s current market position is the largest PoW smart contract platform. We are building for that position, and work is already underway.🔨💚

No ETC developers, teams, organizations, groups or contributors ever benefited from the ETC that was left on-chain from Ethereum’s ICO and premine. It’s disingenuous, at best, to say “ETC conducted a premine.”

We look forward to bringing some very special things to the largest PoW smart contract platform. 💚 @eth_classic has so much potential and such an incredible opportunity in its current niche market position: Turing-complete, PoW.

Four years ago this week #ETH moved to Proof-of-Stake. #EthereumClassic automatically became the largest Proof-of-Work smart contracts blockchain in the world.

8/ If you're on the rogue client, please switch back to github.com/etclabscore/core-… — the latest version is v1.12.23 (Argos). Restore your original node key if you rotated it, disable MESS. You should be able to safely revert, as chain data is still compatible.

7/ The crisis was averted. Four pool nodes briefly switched to this rogue client, but all of them were back on Argos within a few hours. All large mining pools are now running Argos, and the rogue v1.13.0 release has not gained traction.

6/ Here's why MESS matters: It was deactivated in ECIP-1110, because if only a subset of the nodes turn it on, nodes can disagree about which chain is valid. This is a big deal if pools run it, and it could cause a chain split that might not heal.

5/ What the rogue client actually changed: • Turns MESS back on by default • Moves peer discovery to DNS run by a new account • Moves consensus test data to a repo the author controls • Tells operators to rotate node keys You can guess the true intent of this "security fix."
