1/ This weekend someone tried a social attack on Ethereum Classic: a rogue Core-Geth release posing as a security update.
The attack failed.
Be careful when upgrading, especially if asked to use a different source!

$ETC has no bailout. Code is Law.
AI can help review clients like core-geth — but it cannot author an unreviewed release for mission critical software the network depends on.
Formal verification + AI can strengthen #blockchain tech — but if you can’t review it, don’t ship it.
If you’re already a competent developer and familiar with a programming language, AI can assist you greatly.
On the opposite side, the market is saturated with vibe-coded slop, full of security vulnerabilities.
If you can’t review it, you shouldn’t put it in production.
Is it okay for me to use AI to add code to core-geth even if I don't know how to program?
I think it’s wild—if you know how to code, AI serves as an aid; but if you don't?

$ETC is the original Ethereum.
Not the brand. The chain.
Ethereum launched July 30, 2015. One ledger. One history.
After the DAO hack, a hard fork on July 20, 2016 at block 1,920,000 rewrote state to reverse the theft. That chain became $ETH.
The chain that refused the rewrite kept going as $ETC.
Same genesis. Same history up to that block. Same balances until the split.
One chain changed the past. The other didn’t.
Whether the fork was justified is a debate. The ledger is not.
ETC’s relevant act since the fork was not inventing a new consensus gadget every year. It was refusing the DAO bailout and keeping the original ledger.
“Code is law” is the product. Everything after that is maintenance of a base layer, not a startup roadmap.
Not a narrative. A structural fact — and a structural opportunity.
@eth_classic’s current market position is the largest PoW smart contract platform.
We are building for that position, and work is already underway.🔨💚
4 years ago this week: The Merge made $ETC the world's largest Proof-of-Work, smart contract platform 🍀
GPU miners needed a home. ETC was already here. ⛏️
#EthereumClassic#ClassicIsComing
@BlockIndexAI Ethereum Classic itself did not conduct a separate ETC ICO or create a new premine when it emerged in 2016. But because it preserved the original chain and balances, it inherited the original Ethereum premine allocations as ETC.
None of the development teams, or individual contributors benefited from the ETH premine, therefore it's rather disingenuous to say ETC had a premine. blockindex.ai/coin/ethereum%…
What made that allocation matter is who got it. The ETH presale/premine/ICO funded ETH founders, core devs, and the Ethereum Foundation — not $ETC.
No ETC team, contributor, or groups received any of those coins.
Scoring ETC as if it ran that sale is scoring the wrong chain.
No ETC developers, teams, organizations, groups or contributors ever benefited from the ETC that was left on-chain from Ethereum’s ICO and premine.
It’s disingenuous, at best, to say “ETC conducted a premine.”
We look forward to bringing some very special things to the largest PoW smart contract platform. 💚
@eth_classic has so much potential and such an incredible opportunity in its current niche market position: Turing-complete, PoW.

From ~40 TH/s to ~180 TH/s today. ⚡️⛏
