šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øBREAKING: White House blames big banks for killing the CLARITY Act over fears stablecoins would drain their deposits. White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt says opposition to the bill was "a wildfire that was started by larger banks that ultimately spread to community banks." He says Trump was willing to divest his crypto or place it in a blind trust, calling it the most restrictive ethics provision "that has ever been agreed to by any president." Witt called the attacks on Trump "somewhat ironic," given that "a lot of senators on banking committees" actively trade stocks in the financial companies they regulate.

Every politician that voted against Clarity voted against their own constituents! Once the people find out they can get paid 3.5% plus on stable coins or 6% on X money deposits, vs the .01 the receive on checking account deposits, the People, Republican, Democrat, independent, or indifferent will throw out politicians that chose banks and not the people! Fintech is not a partisan issue! All it is, is math, science, financial technology (it’s modern techno economics) not political! Why and the heck would democrat politicians chose banks and not the peoplešŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Bullshit, Congress could have passed the bill anytime they wanted. But Republicans are spineless and refuse to stand alone in support of their decisions. The filibuster is a self imposed rule.

With any luck it would drain their deposits. Fu*k banks! Problem is, there's always gonna be people that nod and comply and keep their money with a bank.

POV: Bank execs think they are so smart. They shot themselves in the 🦶. I want to remind everyone that the world liq. is less then 10%... the rest is all digits. I suspect these cryto exchgs & companies will start to become full blown banks. No need for reg. banks. Dumb.

And of course our bought and paid for politicians are perfectly happy to do what the banks want, no consideration for their constituents. The same banks we bailed out. This country needs such major reform

Deposit flight is the real fight here. Korea's KRW stablecoin debate is leaning the other way: put banks inside the issuance structure instead of fighting them over deposits. Worth watching which model moves more volume.

The only defense banks have is that [as of now] they are systemically important... but, like the rest of us, no company or person is immune to the evolution taking place. We all must evolve and pursue new knowledge & skillsets.

Trump doesn’t want it to pass he’s playing games. They know beforehand if they have enough votes to pass ā€œwhateverā€ legislation. To be surprised or hoodwinked this many times is B.S..

What we need Opensource collab crypto banking for everyone to use for transactions, one where it's owned by the people. We need to go back to the days where governments feared the people and worked for the people

Wasn't surprised. #ClarityAct for me is passed, we didn't need approval — $BTC already did proof of work (POW) for 17 years. I've been tweeting this and about gold's real origin — all from there to 1968 bank collusion (gold/USD), that's the critical circuit breaker, pre-2008.

Banks are correct. As people get digital assets and digital wallets- of course they should pull their money out of banks. I certainly will. And now that we all know what they did… their nightmare will come true. Good job.
