No longer will I need to call it 'a Dirty Epi drip'; it is now has the grown-up name of ' the approved ASCIA pre-hospital adrenaline infusion' Joking aside this approach has bailed me out many times when in a remote/ austere location. Ref: allergy.org.au/hp/papers/acu…

Sometimes as the Doc you have to risk being unpopular. But working with @realRudyReyes @jason_carl_fox @RemiAdeleke @billingham229b it was easy to ensure we kept the recruits safe but also pushed them further than they had ever gone before. #SpecialForcesFox @RealityClubFOX

Happy Australia Day to all of my friends out here & around the globe. Sadly living it up in ER today so will have to catch up on the BBQ'ing, slip & slide and the 'sugar cane champagne' later.

He talked me through how you milk a Funnel Web, really interesting if a little terrifying.

Surely the less time spent in naturopathic 'medical' training the stronger the treatments provided? youtu.be/bgxzSUxxRzE

VScan with Dual Probe (2016), I inherited it when I took over my current role. Prior POCUS experience almost exclusively on Sonosite.

I was fortunate to spend time with my Australian, Kiwi & PNG @OilSearchLtd colleagues remembering our fallen brothers & sisters. A simple but poignant dawn service at Iagifu Ridge in Papua New Guinea.

Nothing worse than Tupperware theft. Tell me it wasn't a clip lock lid lunch box, there is a special place in hell for those type of thieves.
Anaesthetists seem to be the GPs of hospital medicine.

I believe it was quite common practice in previous conflicts. google.com/amp/s/circulating…
A new title to add onto LinkedIn? Having great fun covering for Dr Alben at Moro Airfield until @IceRami flies in.

If one one of your references is a 'Medical Medium' who believes that celery is "the most powerful medicine of our time... ", your evidence base is not very robust.

Still such a powerful read, @romeodallaire brutal honesty in his book had a profound impact on me as a young military officer and doctor.

Great to see @susannareid100 & @GMB helping @nimsdai on his journey to achieve the impossible. Nims is one of the most motivated and humble individuals I have ever met.

20 minute Whole Blood Clotting Test (20WBCT) is an essential tool in managing snake bites in PNG. Simple, low cost, sustainable & appears to be more appropriate than iSTAT when managing envenomation in the Rural & Remote environment. @ACRRM @GlobalSnakebite

A humbling day for me today as we flew over some of the devastation caused by the October earthquake.

Back in the air doing what I love. Gave me the chance to reflect on how blessed I am to work for an organisation that is so focussed on providing life-saving medical care in some of the most remote communities on earth. @ACRRM @RuralDoctorsAus

Such much fun to be working with my 'Papua New Guinean Dad' (the legendary Ken Wake) this week. 30+ years providing Rural & Remote Medicine to the people of PNG.

I know, look at all the watches people are wearing. Disgusting. Go straight to Infection Control Jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. A 3hr powerpoint session and online quiz will fix it though...

@TomTugendhat @JohnnyMercerUK As you both understand deeply, trust underpins warfighting. Unfortunately trust would only appear to flow one way for tHese British Army soldiers.
So much fun today working with my team at Moro Clinic to introduce the use of the iGel & bougie as part of @VortexApproach for emergency airway management. We hope to share this approach across PNG.
