We formed a friends' club earlier this year.
One of our rules was that whenever a member got married, we would support him with a 32-inch smart TV, a deep freezer, and a washing machine.
In April, the first member got married.
We contributed money, bought everything we had agreed on, and presented the gifts to him.
Two weeks after the wedding, he announced that he was no longer interested in being part of the club and left our WhatsApp group.
The following weekend, we showed up at his house unannounced.
We carried away the TV, deep freezer, and washing machine and left.

I strongly oppose the removal of the pensions triple-lock.
More than 2 million pensioners live in poverty. They will be the ones who suffer the most by taking away pension security.
We must protect the principle of universalism. That is why we opposed cuts to winter fuel - and that is why we must oppose any means-testing of the state pension.
This isn't about old versus young. This is about the super-rich versus the rest. That's why we should be taxing wealth to fund social care for all.

Think the point being missed is that a lot of jobs are underpaid.
Median wage for full time work is less than £40k in the UK (lol) so it’s not that people are staying in “minimum wage jobs” that should be for students etc they’re doing regular jobs that pay complete shit.
We all know 40 minimum wage hours isn't enough to sustain a very good standard of life. It never has been. Which is why you're supposed to make it enough by working more or earning more. Add that horrible warehouse job to your weekends for 6-8 months. Hustle.
