Here’s what I would do if I was a crypto creator starting from 0.
1) FIND YOUR USP (unique sales proposition, a.k.a your style)
-Are you a dev who explains technical topics?
-Are you a digital nomad building a product?
-Are you a hot girl with selfies that get 700 likes just for a GM?
-Are you going to do comedy and incorporate crypto themes?
-Are you a fintech influencer who talks about banks and ETFs?
Whatever it is, find it quick.
This is the reason why brands will hire *you* over another creator.
There’s no wrong answers here but your USP has to fit like a glove.
Otherwise creating will feel uncomfortable.
2) BE AS VISIBLE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE
-Engage a ton with brands you like ($0)
-Join spaces and even better, livestreams ($0)
-Go to events if you can (this requires $ but start close to home)
-Go on podcasts ($0)
The more your face and username is seen, the quicker you’ll gain traction.
3) BECOME YOUR OWN PR AGENT
As a creator, you’re building a brand.
Any brands needs:
- announcements and updates
- continuous social media presence
- to create and distribute narratives
- opinions that will attract the right brands
Start thinking like a Comms/ PR person who’s representing a client.
You are your first, only, and most important client.
4) PARTNER WITH COMMUNITIES
I’m not going to sugarcoat this.
When you start, nobody’s gonna give a f.
This is why you need to find out how you can bring enough value to established brands/ communities that will repost you.
It’s as simple as that.
When I started, I posted and promoted
@shefiorg non-stop.
Then
@BoysClubWorld.
Then
@LC.
Thanks to their reposts, I gained my first couple hundred followers.
So find the brands that you resonate with, and start bringing value.
5) GET GUD TECH
You don’t need to drop $7k on a camera from day 1.
But if you’re serious about becoming a creator, you’ll need great visuals.
A janky Android or an iPhone 13 won’t do it.
A DJI osmo is about ~$600 and a perfect tool to get you started.
You can get a set of DJI mini mics with it for another hundred bucks or so.
Quality tech will pay off over and over again, and very often you’ll make all the money back with 1-2 jobs.
6) BECOME A BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND
You may think that picking a niche is limiting and annoying (to be fair, it is) but if you promote every brand on the face of X, you won’t be known for anything.
A fintech creator will gain traction and brand deals way quicker than a creator that hops from memecoins to AI to banks to prediction markets.
Picking a niche = becoming a big fish in a small pond.
After you’ve outgrown your pond, you’ll expand.
Your goal is to become the de-facto creator brands in that niche hire.
7) DON’T FADE AI
Some creators hate AI. They think it *might* steal their jobs.
But if you don’t use AI, those who do, will *definitely* steal your job.
Here are a few ways you can use AI while keeping creative control and humanity:
- content topic research
- color grading
- editing effects
- music
- creating a (non-cringe pls) avatar
- shortening / improving captions
- clipping videos
- repurposing content
- cataloguing inspiration from other creators
8) CREATE NATIVELY
The ultimate goal is to be on every major platform: X, TikTok, instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube
But.
These platforms love native content made just for them.
A TikTok video that gets 100k views might flop on instagram because you didn’t use the right font or transitions.
Start slow and put effort into adapting your content for each platform so it can push you.
If you shoot raw files, you’re only spending a few more min editing.
Then, study the content that crushes on each platform, and make that.
Ok I’m running out of characters.
Let’s wrap this post here.
