Foreign governments want to censor Americans on US soil. Rep. Warren Davidson just introduced a bill to hit back. The HOMEFRONT Act would: • Block enforcement of foreign censorship orders • Stop US agencies from helping foreign censors • Let Americans sue them for $25K The bill follows growing concern over regulators like Britain’s Ofcom trying to pressure US companies over speech that is legal in America. reclaimthenet.org/homefront-…

Sony has become the best at pissing off customers and losing billions of dollars. They keep investing in dogshit like Concord, Marathon and Horizon Hunters Gathering but fuck over Kojima, kill off physical and tell customers they need to get over not owning their games in the span of only a few weeks. 🤡
An update from PlayStation Studios: After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to step away from collaborating with KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS on its project PHYSINT. We continue to have great admiration for Hideo Kojima's vision for the game. Our relationship remains strong after three decades of industry-leading, genre-defining creative cooperation, and we look forward to continued close collaboration with Hideo Kojima and his award-winning independent studio in the future.
Community note
PlayStation's statement presents the PHYSINT split as a mutual "step away" after careful consideration with future collaboration expected. Kojima stated PlayStation unexpectedly notified cancellation in mid-June 2026, forcing a 3-month search for a new partner (Xbox). kotaku.com/xbox-swoops-in… variety.com/2026/gaming/ne…

Consumer Rights Wiki is putting together a list of all the times Sony and PlayStation have said that players “own” their games, including digital games and the list is already pretty long. They’ve found examples on Sony’s own websites using phrases like “games you own,” “the digital game you already own,” and “owners” when talking about players and their games in their website This is interesting because Sony is currently arguing in a lawsuit that consumers shouldn’t reasonably believe they actually own their digital games. So now people are digging through Sony’s own wording to see how often the company itself has used the word “own.” All of this examples could be used in the lawsuits against sony, could be funny if Sony now start editing and deleting these terms

You just LOVE to see this. Kojima vocally expressed his dislike for Playstation ending physical media and says he is worried about game ownership. Fast forward recently, Playstation decides to end collaboration with Kojima for his upcoming game Physint, likely because of Kojima's WRONGTHINK But jokes on Sony - Kojima didn't stay abandoned for long, as Xbox INSTANTLY offered Kojima their cooperation and support. Kojima accepted it and Physint development continues. As if I needed to have another reason to detest Sony more. I get to have a good laugh about it now too.

🦔US CD sales jumped 58.6% and vinyl sales grew 17.7% in the first half of 2026, according to the RIAA. Total physical music revenue was up 25.9%. Streaming is still dominant at $4.9 billion, but for the first time in years people are spending serious money on music they can hold in their hands. My Take I think people are tired of renting everything. Music went to streaming. Software went to subscriptions. Gaming is going digital-only, and Sony just got sued because people found out the games they "bought" can be taken away. Your photos live on iCloud for $2.99 a month. Your documents live on Office 365 for $99 a year. You don't own your movies on Amazon, you own a license that Amazon can revoke. Hardware prices are through the roof and the alternative is renting compute from someone else's data center at whatever rate they decide to charge next quarter. A CD costs $15 and it's yours forever. Nobody can update the terms of service on a vinyl record. I think the 58% jump in CD sales is people voting with their wallets against a model where everything they use requires a monthly payment and nothing they pay for actually belongs to them. Hedgie🤗

If they won't give you physical games, make your own. GOG's Preservation Program just expanded with Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Armikrog, joining Descent, Hitman: Codename 47, and Myst. In collaboration with Big Box Collection, this wave preserves far more than just software: - Interactive 3D Boxes: Download rotatable 3D scans of the original physical box art and inspect them directly in Windows or Mac without extra plugins. - Printable Big Boxes: access flat printable box art so you can cut, fold, and glue your own physical PC big box at home. Pair a custom papercraft big box with GOG’s DRM-free offline installers, and no one can ever take the games you paid for away from you. More here👉 bit.ly/3Tju3Yb

BREAKING: A second GRANITE Act-style censorship shield, the HOMEFRONT Act, has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by @WarrenDavidson. It would allow foreign censors to be sued, for attorney's fees and damages, in U.S. courts. Analysis: prestonbyrne.com/2026/09/08/…

The unholy crusader is ready to slay the gods. Gorr the God Butcher has arrived! 💀 The terrifying God Butcher has revealed his true form after defeating two deities back-to-back, and he's hungry for more. Once a deeply devout believer, the loss of his faith in the gods warped his will into a honed weapon with singular purpose. Gorr relentlessly executes his enemies while wielding the first symbiote, All-Black the Necrosword. His living sword absorbs the flesh of his enemies, and converting them into his army of Black Berserkers. While commanding his berserkers to crush his foes, he can travel across the battlefield to strike at the most unexpected angles until he unleashes the true power of the Annihilablade. The gods will be eradicated one by one as Gorr brings hatred to the battlefield on September 11 (UTC)!

Even the gods can die. ☠️ After wielding the power of All-Black the Necrosword against the would-be gods of Thebes, the God Butcher's dark crusade brings him to Yggsgard. As long as gods existed, mortals would be shackled to illusions and useless prayers instead of believing in themselves. His mission was clear: assemble the God Bomb and obliterate all things divine. But the King of Yggsgard stands at the ready to defend his kingdom, the sound of thunder close behind him. Will they be enough to save the heavens from true mortal vengeance? Season 10: Butcher's Blasphemy unfolds on September 11 (UTC). Gorr has come.

If you take this approach to governance, you create an epistemic gap between institutions and society. That is, the state thinks one thing and the people think, or experience another. It erodes the capability of the state to respond to reality on the ground level and deepens the principal agent gap. Worse, this is how industrial scale atrocities occur in the likes of the Rotherham case and it's why you end up with fleets of masked lads on the streets. The numbers here are shocking. Just think about what multiples above this there are. This is just the people that actually got nicked. It has to be meaningful chunks of society. We should be doing the exact opposite and listening to people so that they feel heard. It's the only way we get past this moment and restore instiutional trust. As it stands this is like flying a plane where you not only ignore all the warning alarms, you'vr ignored them for so long the alarms don't go off anymore. This is not even a question of civil liberties anymore, it's a question of how do you make effective decisions on how to govern.
More than 60,000 people arrested in the UK over the past five years, for 'communications offences', which is exactly as Orwellian as it sounds. Support @BigBrotherWatch and others like them in pushing back against this apparently never-ending erosion of our ability to speak - and therefore to think - freely. What you think and say may well be abhorrent. It might be wrong, misguided, and need to be challenged. But that challenge and that dialectic is precisely how bad ideas are flushed out, and how good ideas emerge. A country with a blanket, state-determined set of acceptable rules and opinions has no right to call itself a free democracy any longer, and overreach of this kind should never, ever have emerged here.
