Web3
Incentives make it seem like that’s all people care about. So founders chase the wrong metrics to validate their product and forget the one question that actually matters: ➥ If your product disappeared tomorrow, what would people actually miss? The tech? The token? The rewards? Or the problem it solved? I’ve watched enough of these cycles to know: people don’t stay for how loud a launch is. They stay because they understand a project, remember it, trust it and eventually, care enough. Once you skip that you’re only living on rented attention. The incentives disappear, and so does the attention. And that’s where the real work begins: getting people to understand why your project matters. That line is filled by: ⇛ Positioning ⇛ Messaging ⇛ Narrative ⇛ Landing pages ⇛ Content systems ⇛ Distribution ⇛ Creator ecosystems ⇛ Community ⇛ Growth metrics ⇛ Proof of work It does more work than most founders give it credit for. Because you’re not speaking to one audience: → users trying to understand the product → developers asking if it’s useful → creators deciding if it’s worth talking about → investors trying to understand the opportunity. And you, the founder, trying to explain all of it without sounding like every other project on CT. If you’re building or marketing in Web3, I’ll be breaking down what makes products understood, remembered, trusted and talked about. ────୨ৎ──── I’m Dellystephen a Web3 Narrative Strategist & Content Marketer.

But what if blockchain could add another layer ownership and rewards? That’s the idea behind @TiwiFlix TiwiFlix is TIWI’s decentralized content platform, built around creator monetization and digital ownership. One interesting feature is the Tiwi Points system, where users can earn points that can be converted into NFTs representing ownership of digital content. And that changes the conversation. Instead of simply consuming digital content, users can potentially have a deeper connection with what they engage with. For creators, the focus is also on creating new ways to monetize their work within a Web3 environment. TiwiFlix is just one piece of the bigger TIWI Ecosystem, alongside DeFi, education, commerce and other products🤍

While researching some of the Africans who have stayed in Web3 long enough to shape it, I kept running into one name. @Rumerule I’ve always known him as the CryptoPreacher. But I hadn’t really looked at the journey behind it. And it made me wonder what it actually take to stay in this industry long enough to become part of its history? So I went back and this is what I found.👇

He began by trying to understand something. Then he taught, built around it. Then became part of conversations shaping the industry. Eventually started creating rooms for other people to learn, connect and build. The role kept changing so did his work kept expanding.

For anyone building in African Web3 and wondering if there’s a real path here, look at the timeline. 2017 → trying to understand Bitcoin. 2020 → teaching thousands. 2022 → pushing beyond trading. 2025 → building Decentralised Nigeria. 2026 → Programs & Communications Lead at VASPA. Nine years of staying close to the work. Rume Ophi @Rumerule I came across his story while researching African Web3 builders worth documenting. There are more and the African voice intend to find them.

The $100,000 Question Nobody Asks You A few years ago, a friend of mine, decent trader, not reckless, definitely not rich, spent an afternoon trying to figure out if he qualified for VIP status on his exchange. He pulled up the requirements page, did the math on his portfolio, closed the tab, and never brought it up again. He wasn't rejected. He just never applied. The number on the page made the decision for him before he even tried. That's the quiet mechanic behind most VIP programs in crypto. They're not designed to be denied, they're designed to be self-selecting. Put $100,000 in assets as the line, and most people filter themselves out without anyone having to say no. So here's the question worth sitting with: what if the line just wasn't there? No Line to Cross MEXC's VVIP relaunch removes the asset and volume requirement entirely. No specified balance to hit, no 30-day trading volume to hit before the system even looks at you. Every eligible user starts with an initial M-Score of 350, which places them straight into Standard, the entry tier. Compare that to what's standard elsewhere as of September 2026: Binance VIP1 requires $100,000 in assets. Bybit VIP1 requires $100,000 in assets. Bitget VIP1 requires 30,000 USDT in assets. OKX VIP1 requires $100,000 in assets. MEXC Standard requires $0. My friend never got that far on other platforms. Under this model, he wouldn't have had to. But Here's the Part That Actually Matters Free entry sounds good in a headline. It's almost meaningless on its own. A door that costs nothing to walk through still needs something worth finding on the other side, otherwise "zero threshold" is just a nicer way of saying there was never anything here to gate. So what's actually different once you're in? @MEXC doesn't hand out tier status based on a static number. It runs on something called M-Score, a rolling score built from trading activity, account assets, security settings (Advanced KYC, passkeys), and daily activity. It moves. It can climb. It can drop. Standard sits at 351 to 599, Premier at 600 to 799, Elite at 800 and above. Which means the whole framing shifts. It's no longer about how rich you are, it's closer to how you're actually using this account. Security matters. Consistency matters. That's a different question than the one my friend gave up on. The Number That's Actually Usable Here's where it stops being theoretical. Card cashback, under the applicable Global/APAC Card promotion, works like this: TierCashback rateMonthly capStandard4%100 USDTPremier6%300 USDTElite10%800 USDT Not a hypothetical Elite-only perk. Not something you need six figures to unlock. Four percent, capped at 100 USDT a month, available at the tier everyone starts at. One condition worth knowing: cashback is calculated on your actual tier at the end of each calendar month, so if your M-Score shifts mid-month, your rate shifts with it. Elite trial passes don't count toward cashback tiers either, so a temporary bump in access isn't a temporary bump in reward. Small print, but the kind that separates a real number from a marketing one. Back to the Tab He Closed I think about that afternoon a lot, not because it was dramatic, it wasn't. He just did the math, saw a number he wasn't going to hit anytime soon, and moved on. That's the whole story with most VIP programs. The filtering happens silently, before anyone ever gets a chance to see what's on the other side of the line. What's actually worth asking, about this program or any other, isn't "is there a threshold." It's two questions held together: what does it take to get in, and once you're in, is there anything there. A program that's free to join but empty at the entry tier hasn't really solved the problem. It's just moved the disappointment to a later step. MEXC's Standard tier gives you an answer to the second question on day one, not just the first. If you're already using the platform, your M-Score, current tier, and available benefits are sitting on the VVIP page right now, worth the two minutes my friend never spent. Digital asset and futures trading carry risk. Cashback rates, caps, and promotional terms are subject to change. Verify current official rules before acting on any figures cited here.
