If Tanden is concerned that Maine is close, she could encourage the state's Democratic governor, Janet Mills, to endorse its Democratic Senatorial candidate, Troy Jackson. To date, Mills has not -- and Jackson's main problem is with Dems voting for Collins.
Right now Michigan, Maine and Minnesota are closer than North Carolina and Alaska. So maybe there’s a broader lesson there.

Three years ago, Hamas terrorists carried out the worst attack on Israel in its history, murdering 1,200 innocent people. I offer my deep condolences to those who lost loved ones. I send my solidarity to the people of Israel on the anniversary of this terrible act.

Pete Fry has made a political deal with Sean Orr and COPE in his effort to become Mayor of Vancouver. Sean Orr, who is part of this political coalition, has repeatedly shared controversial material online, including material containing racial slurs, opposition to women voting and anti-Muslim content. Does Pete Fry think this is acceptable from someone he has chosen to politically align himself with? Is this the kind of discourse Pete Fry accepts from the people and parties he has chosen to work with? Pete Fry knows who Sean Orr is. He knows who COPE is. And he has made the decision to align with them politically. Vancouverites can look at that decision and decide for themselves what it says about Pete Fry’s judgment. #ABCVancouver #PublicSafety #Affordability

There's no word for what ails the Dems. It's not a centrist thing, it's not a left-wing thing. The entire culture is built around not knowing how anything works and not doing any actual work. It's just 'shiny object' politics. Today it's AI doom, yesterday it was data centers...

Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin says Jewish morality requires "wiping out" Gaza and the West Bank. Q: "Is it a Jewish point of view to like wipe out all of Gaza…and annex the West Bank?" Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin: "100 percent." Feiglin adds that all "Arabs" in Gaza—including babies—are the "enemy," not simply Hamas. "Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy," Feiglin said explicitly last year. "The enemy is not Hamas."

Donald Trump made 1,000+ stock trades in one month, all while holding the power to move the market. Banning the president and lawmakers from owning and trading individual stocks is common sense. It is long past time for Congress to act.

🇾🇪 Ansar Allah appears to have reversed the Saudi-backed advance on Yemen's Red Sea coast within 24 hours. Its fighters posted videos from Dhubab, a town in Taiz province between the Bab al-Mandab strait and the port of Mocha, which Ansar Allah took in mid-September, and pro-Saudi mercenary accounts said had been seized once again by the internationally recognized mercenaries on Monday. Researcher @bonzerbarry noted this morning that the coastal strip is flat, open desert. With heavy air cover, light armored vehicles can advance quickly along it, but the ground is hard to hold. Mountains just inland, in the Al-Wazi'iyah highlands, overlook the plain. Unless government forces push up into those mountains, Ansar Allah, whose strength has always been mountain warfare, can come down and "swiftly" push them back out.
Ansarallah fighters publish videos from Dhubab.

Wolfers: I once joked that if we’ve learned anything during the Trump presidency, it might be that men are too emotional to be president. Imagine we had a female president who was so idiosyncratic and so moody and whose policy decisions were up and down like crazy and who expected the world to operate around her moods. Could you just imagine the coverage? It’s utterly bizarre what we allow to happen and the way we’ve normalized all of it.

Another Epstein whistleblower, Simon Andriesz, has died by suicide. Andriesz reported evidence to the FBI, the House Oversight Committee, and British authorities about Howard Lutnick’s links to Jeffrey Epstein and crimes by Cantor Fitzgerald involving the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. Before his death, he wrote extensively about the personal cost of becoming a whistleblower and the danger to him and his family.
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21. Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story: bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47 BBC News: bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d… I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors. My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher. I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me. Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly: motherjones.com/politics/202… motherjones.com/politics/202… Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.
