ALT Screening • Use validated instruments to screen for depression and anxiety (eg, BDI-II, PHQ-9, GDS, HADS) • Optimal timing of screening is uncertain but could be conducted at intervals post-ACS • Consider referral to mental health care professional Diagnosis • Confirm diagnosis of depression or anxiety, or both, prior to initiating treatment Treatment • Use shared decision-making to inform treatment decision • CBT and antidepressant mediations (eg, SSRI) are options and may be used together for optimal effect Re-Assessment • Reassess depression or anxiety, or both, symptoms and necessity of continued treatment or modification to treatment plan
