Since I mentioned Riz (@Empire_Names) recently, I went back and listened to his interviews with @alvinbrown. This one inspired me to sell a few names at wholesale today. Riz was brilliant; so much to glean from him. piped.video/watch?v=Pc4mkK7l… #RIPRiz

When pricing a domain, remember the buyer is comparing your asking price against every alternative available to them.

The concept of 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 or 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗜) has been around a lot longer than most think. The first recorded use of the noun 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 dates back to the 𝟭𝟴𝟮𝟬𝘀. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the earliest known evidence of the term appears around 𝟭𝟴𝟮𝟮 in the writings of 𝗥. 𝗛. 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸. However, how the term is understood depends entirely on the context: 𝟭. 𝗜𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁) The core technological concept of machine superintelligence was first articulated by mathematician 𝗜. 𝗝. 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 in his 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟱 paper, “Speculations Concerning the First Ultraintelligent Machine.” He described an “ultraintelligent machine” that could far surpass human cognitive abilities and spark an “intelligence explosion” via recursive self-improvement. 𝟮. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The explicit compound term “artificial superintelligence” (ASI) or “superintelligence” became a fixture of modern tech policy and philosophy after being popularized by philosopher 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗺. He wrote a foundational paper on the topic in the late 1990s and later published the 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟰 New York Times bestselling book, 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙨, 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨. 𝟯. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 The term entered mainstream government nomenclature in 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, when 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽 announced during a United Nations General Assembly speech that the United States would officially replace the term “artificial intelligence” with 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 (𝗦𝗜) in all government documents. Trump argued that the word “artificial” made the technology sound “fake.” #SI #SuperIntelligence

This holds much more weight than any domain investor buying .si domain names. End user participation is what will drive value.
In total this week, I’ve only heard from *one* startup that is even remotely .si curious. For any non-mainstream TLD become a legit option, some company needs to build on it and then do very well, raise money and get a lot of traction. Which then gives other startups “permission” to use that TLD, as well. Kind of like what @NotionHQ did for .so.

Interesting... I just found out that @atomHQ does not allow .si domains to be considered as Premium Listings.

Ok… which domain investor has the ear of the President? 🤷🏽‍♂️
🚨BREAKING: Donald Trump told the UN that he’s changing the name of Artificial Intelligence to "Super Intelligence" and says that all US government documents will now be changed to refer to "SI" (LOL!) 🤣

Agreed. I would think the larger the company, the less the CEO is involved. I once sold a domain to a large company where the CTO had full autonomy regarding the purchase of the domain as well as the ability to complete the transaction without needing additional approval.
The person responsible for buying a domain may not be the CEO. Marketing, legal, product, IT and brand teams can all influence the decision.

If you have domains to sell, close X and go send 10 outbound emails. Don't know who to email? Send ChatGPT your domain and ask for 10 businesses that might be interested in the domain name. (Then Rinse & Repeat!) Happy Friday! #Outbound #Domains #LuckFavorsTheBusy

P.S. If you can't write an email, Claude will. Just ask. "Can you put together a prospect list to help me sell the domain name xxxxxxx? Specifically, can you identify companies that use "xxxxxxx" in their name or branding who may want to upgrade to a better domain name?"

"Because some domainers aren't looking for anything logical, like education. They can't be bothered, encouraged, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some domainers just want to spam their domain names on X."

Truth! Domain investing will not pay your bills unless you are willing to grind (outbound) every single day and grow it into a business that pays your bills.
GM 😎 Get a job. That’s what I’ve been telling everyone who says they’re going full-time domainer. You’re not making enough? Get a job. You think you’ll “make it” eventually? Get a job. Because trust me, time flies. ⏳ You’ll blink, a few years will be gone, and you’ll look back and say: “Shit… what have I done?” Domaining can be a side hustle while you build. But don’t let it become an excuse to waste years waiting for something that may never happen.

I am SOO grateful for AI and all that it does for me. Here is one of the latest domain graphics ChatGPT created for me. It didn't even get insulted by the idea. 🤣🤣🤣 AgentsGoneWild.com - I hope they don't, but if they do... this domain will tell the story.
