Floata was more than a restaurant, it was a place where working class families like mine went to spend time together. “At seven in the morning, I don’t want to eat dim sum, but I’m scarfing down my har gow and siu mai, because it was our family time together,” said Seto.
"Vancouver loses 'a culinary community centre' with sudden closure of Floata Seafood Restaurant" feat @donnaseto as told by @fumano via @VancouverSun

My new book, Chinatown Vancouver, is about more than just buildings. It’s about identity, importance of diverse voices in history, & what it means to be a Canadian of Chinese heritage. I also talk about my undergrad @SFU @SFUFASS in this article. @
