Hester Peirce with another banger “Today society is at a crossroads. Down one path lies the status quo: more data collection, more intermediary surveillance, more “know your customer” requirements that turn our financial rails into a panopticon. Down the other path lies an opportunity to use new technologies to improve our ability to catch criminals while collecting less personal information than ever before, and monitoring more sparingly to protect Americans’ privacy.” sec.gov/newsroom/speeches-st…

The retail demand for #STRE in Europe is huge, but still untapped. Let's get it tokenized and listed on @swissborg and all the other major exchanges. @saylor @phongle @natbrunell cc @Cyrus_Fazel @AnthoLGSB

1/ We are at the innings of a revolution in consumer finance, and few people can see it. A couple of weeks ago we started onboarding select early users to Aave App. The reception and early numbers have blown all of our expectations out of the water. And this is only the first step: a simple & beautiful way to earn on US dollars. There is so much more to build, and to do it, we have opened up some crucial roles for Aave App.

Debt doom keeps using yesterday’s math. Tokenization + AI agents will make the existing $196T of USA household wealth far more liquid and faster-moving. The next fiscal escape hatch is velocity, not printing.

*** ECB LAUNCHES WHOLESALE DIGITAL EURO TODAY *** The ECB has launched Pontes today. It is effectively the “digital euro made available for banks” so they can effectively settle transactions with each other using tokenized assets and distributed ledger technology (DLT). It connects market DLT platforms to the Eurosystem’s existing TARGET settlement services so tokenized deals can be settled in central bank money. It is worth reiterating that the ECB has been considering major public blockchains like Ethereum or Solana (source: FT) for the launch of the Digital Euro in the past. The retail Digital Euro is expected to be piloted from mid-2027 onwards.

To counter Europe’s dependence on US social media, the European Commission ordered trusted European partners to launch an X clone. Patriotic Europeans like myself were the first to join. But I worried about censorship and tested the new platform by outing myself as a pro-EU, moderate conservative. Got suspended. FAIL! Why did I run a test? You see, free speech in Europe isn’t doing well at all at a cultural level because a progressive, liberal-technocratic ideology aggressively delegitimises all other political views, its adherents tending to feel entitled to use legal measures and institutional might against nationalists and conservatives. But my brand of EU-friendly, mega nerdy, moderate conservatism should be OK, no? So here my test. I uploaded links to two of my papers: one on Europe’s historiographical pluralism and one on the need for conservatives to shape the European project. See: danubeinstitute.hu/api/v1/co… And: academia.edu/170533106/Hendr… Then I criticised the Brandmauer in Germany, calling it ineffective, both intellectually and in light of the current polls. Finally, I stated in my WSocial bio that I was “aspiring to found WSocial’s conservative corner.” I had only friendly engagements with people. A left-wing lady liked some of my posts, and we followed each other. I liked a happy post about the EU-Canada love fest. Everything seemed fine. Then came the Bluesky flagging; my account was shielded from the shared Bluesky universe. I didn't think too much of it. After all, WSocial had my back, and I was happy to be on it. Oops, WSocial clammed down. Block. Account gone. Guys, pro-EU/EU-aligned social media are not going to work if we cannot muster some basic tolerance for political and intellectual diversity. I would also like to point out that I've used WeChat (Chinese) for over a decade without any suspicion, and the same holds for my two decades of using American social media. No one ever suspended or flagged me. It's a bit crazy that I went through the trouble of getting a passport-verified account on an EU-focused app—motivated by EU patriotism!—only to have it taken down within a few days. Really, if it’s like that, just give social media to the US and China. I have to be honest.
Update. My WSocial account has already been suspended. When I saw that many accounts were stridently leftist, I outed myself as a pro-EU conservative to test the waters. I got flagged by “partner” Bluesky, but otherwise had only polite exchanges. Now WSocial closed me down.

Access to AI is not the same as ownership. A Champion is a locally owned AI institution, built for its country and owned by the people it serves. Every nation should have a stake in the intelligence shaping its future.

With CLARITY stalled, I expect the SEC, CFTC, and Treasury to advance rules under existing law, banks to expand Bitcoin custody and loans against it, and more capital to favor Bitcoin and digital credit. GENIUS supports stablecoin adoption. Progress need not wait for Congress.

This is a perfect example of what's wrong with America right now Early in its history, 30-40 year olds were determining the future of the country Now, 77 year old dinosaurs are telling you why you can't have innovation and progress This needs to somehow be fixed asap

The holy grail of crypto adoption isn’t making people learn DeFi. It’s making DeFi invisible. What is still stopping client money from going on-chain? According to @Cyrus_Fazel, the shift is already happening: over 40% of @SwissBorg trades are actively running through multi-chain DEX liquidity under the hood.

The myopic vote of the Democrats on the Clarity Act Cloture is an incredible opportunity for the EU to take the lead the creation of next generation financial services and thus to attract significant talent and capital from around the world by creating an innovation friendly new version of MiCA. Let's not waste this opportunity. We need clever industrial policies not a war with Russia to keep the GDP afloat. @ESMAComms @vonderleyen @EU_Commission

This afternoon, Senate Democrats proved they were never truly serious about protecting consumers and preserving American leadership. I sat at the table with Senate Democrats working in good faith to get this done while they played games. For over a year, they presented demands and the second we met them, they made new demands and moved the goal posts. Today they voted against real limitations on politicians’ personal crypto investments. They voted against protecting American consumers from the scammers and fraudsters this bill would have shut down. They voted against American leadership, and handed China and every one of our foreign competitors exactly what they wanted. Democrats chose politics over the American people—again. That’s not leadership on their part, that’s surrender to their radical, socialist base. The once-proud Democratic party is anti-consumer and pro-illicit finance, anti-ethics, anti-free enterprise, anti-worker, anti-livable wage jobs, and pro-socialism. The Democrats are now anti-American. Sad!

Senators pick one of two choices today: 1. vote yes on the CLARITY Act to promote innovation, protect consumers, put new ethics restrictions on elected officials, and create new law enforcement tools to combat illicit finance, or 2. vote no and let other countries lead in building the future of finance History - and the crypto voter - won’t forget.
Tomorrow, the Senate will consider the CLARITY Act. A year ago, a group of Democratic senators put out their own framework for what serious market structure legislation needed to accomplish. They identified seven pillars: closing the regulatory gap, clarifying the status of digital assets, bringing issuers and platforms into the regulatory framework, combating illicit finance, preventing corruption and abuse, and ensuring fair and effective regulation. Every one of those seven pillars is addressed in the legislation before the Senate tomorrow. And that’s only part of the story. The final text incorporates 126 additional substantive changes requested by Democrats. It includes a historic ethics framework, stronger enforcement — including a role for state attorneys general — new protections around conflicts and insider abuse, stronger consumer and customer-property protections, tougher illicit-finance rules, and greater accountability for the regulators charged with overseeing these markets. None of that happened by accident. It is the product of more than a year of members raising hard questions, negotiating difficult issues and materially reshaping the legislation. Congress rarely gets the opportunity to write the rules for an entirely new financial market from the ground up. This is one of those moments. The bill before the Senate tomorrow is fundamentally different from where this process began. Democratic negotiators played a major role in getting it here. They should vote for it tomorrow. Let’s pass CLARITY.
