“That’s different.” No. That IS socialism. It is the erasure of meritocracy. That is the entire purpose of socialism. That our world stop organizing around merit, effort, or individual creation and instead apply one standard baseline to all—from which nobody can deviate. That’s why it failed every time it was attempted. Because humans are hardwired to self-actualitize. It is the highest human purpose, under Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. In other words, socialism violates our human coding. If you don’t understand this, you don’t understand socialism.
They’re all for socialism until they’re asked to apply that same concept to their grades.. Funny how that works. Watch this.

Socialism is the right system but the wrong species. It works for ants. It cannot work for humans.

Big words from you and the others. What most people that use the generalized term is the Scandinavian country setup. It works better for 90 % of people in society compared to The US. For the top 10 % the US system has some advantages but in general also a lot of cons.

Those kids don’t want socialism, they want social-democracy. Sounds similar but it’s not the same.

You should probably understand socialism before talking about it. Saying that socialism is the erasure of meritocracy basically ignores multiple socialist teachings and theories.

But those kids don't sound like they want "S"ocialism. They sound like they want a robust social safety net. 🤷‍♂️ They are stupid for accepting the word "socialism" for it of course.

Socialists are always socialist with other people's stuff. It's their own stuff that's generally exempt from redistribution.

Exactly. And they don't understand human nature, more importantly.

Socialism or human nature, the apparent misunderstanding of which gives rise to these ideas while dooming them to failure.

trying to act like Marx advocated for 'one standard baseline' just proves you’ve never read a single page of the Critique of the Gotha Programme, where he explicitly rejected absolute mathematical leveling.

Capitalism traps millions at the bottom of that pyramid; socialism guarantees those baseline survival needs as a human right so that everyone actually has the security and time to self-actualize. You moronic cunt

You moron, Imagine completely flipping Maslow's hierarchy of needs upside down just to make a broken political point. Maslow literally argued that humans cannot self-actualize if they are constantly fighting for basic survival, food, housing, and healthcare.

Look, it’s silly not to differentiate between Socialism and Communism.

I’m all for merit and effort, but what about inherited wealth and meritocracy?
