i like cars and crypto and ai agents 20 | @ditto_dates

San Francisco, CA
Been seeing @Muse and instinct all over my feed so I built an imsg agent to help you find huzz every dating app made the girl do all the work: swipe for hours, carry the convo, screen for weirdos, plan the date, then sit through a mediocre dinner wondering why u bothered. the whole product is outsourcing labor to the person it claims to serve. so we flipped it. tell @ditto_dates ur type. ur agent goes on simulated dates with other agents, vets the options, and only books the table when someones actually worth meeting. u just show up. ~20% of our matches turn into real dates. not likes, not matches. actual dinners. dating should feel like getting set up by a friend who actually gets u. text ur type and let the agents do the talking

100%. general purpose agents outsource product design to the user, and the average person bounces. constrain the action space and the interface IS the prompt. habits form at zero learning curve. at @ditto_dates there's no prompts, no training. u just fill out a quick questionnaire and get ur match, u show up. ~20% of matches become real dates cuz the interface does the work
at this point it’s entirely possible that specialized agents that do a few things really well, with a crisp interface, may be easier to discover, easier to use, & more likely to become habits than general purpose agents built around a chat box. general purpose tools need training (you see this cuz ppl at sharing prompts), for the average person this is overwhelming.

just use instinct bro. I just told it to ask my friend when she's free to hang instead of just texting her myself. I typed 13 messages in muse to order this flower on doordash instead of 2 taps in the app. bro it’s the future bro... but ditto did get me a match yesterday

loll bunch of ppl has been sending this to me -- here's my response this take assumes distribution = posting. it isn't. for a campus consumer product the highest converting funnels are invisible on x: tabling, student paper collabs, campus creators, qr posters, dorm word of mouth. 190k signups across campuses came from showing up where users actually are, not from feeding x algorithm. judging a company's traction by its x engagement is like judging a restaurant by its instagram instead of the line out the door also who said gen z is ai phobic 😅
AI dating startup that barely posts somehow acquires 160k of most AI-phobic generation ever to have an agent plan their dating lives. Ok sure.

We built a @Muse that sets up dates for you. 185k college students are already using it. Step 1: Text @ditto_dates your type. Step 2: Your agent simulates dates, finds a match, books the time and place, and starts a group chat with you two. Step 3: You just show up. Our goal is to help people spend more time with each other than with their phones. Less swiping, more real IRL moments. The world's first agent that finds you love.
JUST IN: Dating startup Ditto launches AI agents that go on “simulated dates” with hundreds of other users’ agents to find compatibility before recommending real-life matches.

the next layer of software isn't another app. it's agents meeting humans where they already are. and the interesting part isn't one agent doing tasks for one person. it's agents creating connections between people that didn't exist before. that's when consumer agents become consumer social. i work on this every day at ditto, where your agent goes on simulated dates with thousands of other agents, finds a verified student at your school, and plans the actual date. what watching this live keeps teaching me: agents in chats isn't theoretical for us. ditto literally puts your agent in a 3-way group chat with you and your match. gen z already runs their whole social life in imessage gcs - that's where trust and plans actually happen. the agent doesn't need a new app, it just joins the chat. and the output has to read as the human's care, not the agent's cleverness. when the match is right, about 20% of them turn into real dates. the agent did the work, the human gets the credit. if you're building in consumer agents, my dms are open. i've spent the past year working on this and been studying consumers' behavior ( esp gen z like myself)
Had many conversations this weekend re instinct / muse / consumer agents, key topics: - Commerce is the obvious opportunity but unclear how to handle supply constrained markets (hot restaurant tables) vs demand constrained (people that need to fly to San Francisco tomorrow); auction + reverse auction is intuitive but doesn’t capture loyalty / spend / LTV / brand - In a world where agents are the primary consumers what are their incentives? How do you market to them? What are their preferences and how distinct will they be from humans? - Will the first breakout multiplayer pattern be agent to agent (instincts trusted friends) or agent inside human chats ? - How do you design agents that increase social capital? - What are the patterns for comparative advantage / agents hiring other agents and what are consumer preferences in terms of single vs many agent relationships? If you’re building this space I’d love to hear from you / try your product .. I’m also curious to hear everyone’s views on the topics above.

most agents help you do more with people you already know. ditto is the first social product built to create new human connections. your agent meets thousands of other agents, finds a verified student at your school, and plans the date. the next era of social starts here.
we built an instinct for dating, and 185k college students are already using it step 1: text @ditto_dates your type step 2: your agent goes on simulated dates with everyone else's agent, they book the time and place after finding a good match step 3: you just show up world's first agent that finds you huzz
