Western liberal limbic capitalism -- which is built around advertising, platforms, fashion, wellness, dating apps, and social media -- adores white woman far more than white men, because of their stronger inclination to develop an identity organized around endless attention, new clothing, cosmetics, travel, therapy -- and because of their closer connection to the impulsive drives of primitive immigrants. A woman living in a patriarchal white male order oriented by the ethic of self-control, deferred gratification, and careful management of resources for children -------- is far less profitable. x.com/just_bodhi/status/2110…

Dang, claude code, the harness, is just so ridiculously ahead of all other harnesses. There's just no competition at all. I don't even think the other harness know what they are missing. It's all the tiny stuff.

I know all this is not implemented and easier said than done, still why would you give your technical moat in writing? It's great marketing but you're also giving away your secret sauce.
every week someone tells me they’re going to vibe-code their own @beehiiv alternative over the weekend. wishing them the best, here’s the backlog of things to make sure to include: > 99.3% email delivery rate (industry-leading) > team of deliverability experts with decades of experience > infrastructure to send 3M+ emails per minute > validating every single email submission (1st and 3rd party) > automated bot-detection to prevent spam signups > registering for every mailbox provider’s feedback program > ingesting data from said feedback loops and building suppression lists > tagging every email so gmail reports complaint rates per newsletter > classifying every bounce (hard, soft, mailbox full, DNS failure) and knowing which ones mean “try again” vs. “never again” > three layers of suppression: global, per-publication, and transactional > temporary suppressions that expire on their own, and permanent ones that never do > one-click unsubscribe, the way gmail and yahoo now require it > warming new IPs and domains on a schedule > watching blocklists around the clock, and pulling an IP from rotation the moment it’s listed > retrying deferred mail for 24+ hours before calling it a bounce > blocking disposable, invalid, and typo’d addresses before they ever reach the list > rate limiting every signup endpoint a bot can find > filtering bot clicks out of every report (something we pay an ungodly amount of money for) > an acquisition source on every subscriber > engagement history for every reader, across every post > multiple sender addresses for different emails > custom domain configuration that is aligned with DKIM, SPF, DMARC > a true WYSIWYG editor: what you write is what lands in the inbox, with no HTML required > turning that editor into table-based, inline-styled email HTML that holds up in outlook > real-time collaborative editing, so the whole team can work on the same issue at once > dynamic content: different sections for different readers, all in a single send > separate email and web versions of every post, from one draft > free and premium versions of the same post, split by a paywall break > merge tags that personalize every email, and a simulated subscriber to preview them before you send > templates with saved colors, fonts, and spacing, plus a default style for every post > columns, tables, buttons, blockquotes, sections, file attachments, and a table of contents with anchor links > native embeds for X, youtube, tiktok, instagram, bluesky, stocktwits, and podcast episodes > polls, referral blocks, recommendations, and ad slots, built right into the post > an AI writer, AI images, and a built-in AI agent one keyboard shortcut away > images resized and optimized automatically, however they’re uploaded > a live email-size gauge that warns you before gmail clips your newsletter > custom HTML blocks, cleaned so a stray script tag can’t break your post > automatically hiding anything an inbox can’t handle (video, iframes, audio) in the email version, while keeping it on the web > links and embeds made clickable even in outlook, which ignores links wrapped around tables > vertical alignment in columns, because a layout that looks off by 4px looks broken to readers > converting your newsletter to audio versions for readers who prefer to listen > random cohort sends to randomly split your list to test different content and conversion > slash commands: type “/” and insert any block without touching a menu > markdown and keyboard shortcuts for people who never want to touch a mouse > pasting from google docs with the formatting intact > search and replace across the whole post > comment threads right in the draft, so editors and writers stop living in google docs > footnotes and citations that work in the inbox and on the web > code blocks, for the technical newsletters > an AI writer that rewrites, translates, and fixes spelling and grammar in place > autosave, so a closed tab never costs you a draft > subject line A/B testing, built into the send flow > drag-and-drop images, from your computer, your media library, or a URL > rich-text image captions, plus image titles and alt text for accessibility > audio files that play inline > file attachments, so a PDF can ride along with the issue > sections with their own backgrounds, borders, and spacing > blockquotes with custom borders, colors, and styles > content breaks and dividers that render cleanly in every inbox > a REST API for subscribers, posts, segments, automations, and more > a send API to create and send newsletters programmatically > creating, updating, and deleting subscribers in real time > reading and writing custom fields on any subscriber > tagging subscribers from your own app > enrolling subscribers into automations via API > pulling opens, clicks, and engagement for every post > fetching post HTML rendered for free vs. premium, email vs. web > creating posts from a template, then appending or prepending content > fetching segments and every subscriber in them > managing tiers and premium subscriptions > pulling referral program data and milestones > reading poll and survey responses > pagination that holds up across millions of records > rate limits that protect the platform without blocking real integrations > API keys you can create and revoke anytime > an MCP server so claude, chatgpt, and other AI tools can work inside beehiiv > drafting and editing posts from an AI chat > asking for open rates, CTR, and revenue in plain english > comparing performance across dozens of posts in one request > looking up any subscriber's full history and engagement > building segments by describing them > creating and editing automations > generating AI images straight into your media library > managing website pages, redirects, and SEO > reading and replying to community posts and DMs > reviewing ad offers and ad revenue reports > managing podcast shows and episodes > creating digital products, coupons, and promo codes > running subscriber growth and earnings reports > setting up subject line A/B tests > deliverability by mailbox provider for any post > searching docs without leaving the chat > inviting teammates by email > admin, member, and contributor roles > admins who control billing, exports, integrations, payments, and domains > members with full access minus admin permissions > contributors limited to drafting posts and automations > roles at the workspace or publication level > multiple publications under one workspace > workspace grouping and search for people on multiple teams > multiple authors per post, with bylines > guest authors for one-off contributors > author profiles with bios, avatars, and social links > community roles mapped to workspace roles (admin, manager, moderator) > real-time collaboration and comment threads on every draft > removing access the moment someone leaves > publication transfers between owners, with written consent > secure, single-use magic links to log in from desktop > a no-code website builder on your own custom domain > an AI website builder that works from plain-english prompts or screenshots > AI custom elements for live widgets > drag-and-drop editing, plus HTML access for full control > site-wide theme tokens for fonts, colors, borders, and shadows > global navbar, footer, and signup and login modals > saving sections, blocks, and pages as reusable templates > version history with one-click restore > custom pages with their own SEO settings and paywalls > redirects, so old links never break > custom robots.txt > auto-generated meta titles and descriptions for every post > google news schema > pages up to 80% faster on largest contentful paint > image carousels and grids > youtube blocks that update when you post new videos > an automatic page for every podcast episode > pop-ups and gated content to turn visitors into subscribers > a visual automation builder, subscriber attributes > reusable condition sets across automations > email steps built in the same editor as your newsletter > webhook steps that call your own systems, with automatic retries > your vibe-coded solution will still require paying for and stitching together a ton of software: > email sending (sendgrid, amazon SES, postmark) > web hosting (vercel, AWS, render) > database + queue (supabase, neon, RDS) > payments (stripe, memberful) > auth (clerk, auth0, supabase auth) > monitoring + alerting (sentry, datadog, pagerduty) > workflow engine (inngest, temporal, upstash qstash) > bot protection (cloudflare) > email validation (zerobounce, kickbox) > email rendering (litmus, email on acid) > click verification (omnivery) > media storage + CDN (S3, R2, vercel blob) > product analytics (posthog, mixpanel) …but at least you saved $59/mo not paying for @beehiiv anymore 🫡

New moat: create a plugin that tells you the video or article you're seeing is AI

I didn't even realize Nikita quit. His legacy (what I noticed personally): Knowing where you're tweeting from. In his tenure, I stopped seeing the screen auto scroll due to new tweets coming in Stopped seeing bots following adding me that mostly all had pictures of hookers. There will be more definitely but not creating an eulogy for him

This is a good time to remember what Jesus said about in Matthew 24:36 about the uncertainty of the future and predicting it. "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Anyone else find Claude auto-mode classfier annoying? Auto mode classifier has stopped a file from self-modification. Dude, this is my local, stop already with all the cyber security alarmism!

I used to see how people raved about those curated AI instruction recipe repos being shared a year ago. Wonder if they are even relevant, now that frontier models don't hallucinate so much. Then spend 2 months tuning Claude on my local. Ah so that's what the recipes were for

It works both ways. When divorcing culture(couples) don't get lectures,it seems like there's no lecturing but there indeed is. Its the silent lecturing by their cultural ecosystem being interpreted as "it's ok, you can do what you want to prioritise your individual happiness".

I'm not a fan of this dude posting his divorce for clout or whatever the fuck he is doing. That said, maybe y'all are better people than me, but none of my friends getting divorced would have benefitted from a lecture.

Oh you drifted apart? DRIFT THE FUCK BACK TOGETHER. Pull out a paddle and put in some damn effort. Absolutely evil to destroy your children's entire world over "no fights, just drifted apart." Do you have no honor? Did your wedding vows means nothing to you? Pathetic.
My wife and I decided to get a divorce. There were no fights, just two adults who realised they drifted apart from each other. This is probably the hardest thing I had to go through. First of all, telling our girls...seeing them so sad was heartbreaking. But we are still a team as parents and will do everything for them! Also we have to sell our house, the house I wanted to live in forever and raise my kids in... Going back to a smaller appartment will be rough. I still have a lot of to handle, that's why I wasn't active here on X. I'm really grateful for all the people who reached out and asked where I was 🙏🏼 This women will always be a part of my life, she gifted me with two perfect daughters. I wish her all the best, great memories were made in those years! I'll be back soon. Thank you everyone 🙏🏼

Children of divorce are: • 3x more likely to be incarcerated • 2-3x more likely to divorce as an adult • 50-100% more likely to live in poverty • 63% more likely to have a teen pregnancy • 35-55% to die before 25 • 16% more likely to develop behavioral problems between ages 7-14 • 8% more likely to drop out of high school • 12% less likely to attend college • 11% less likely to graduate college That deserves more than "Mommy and daddy are just not feeling it"

Wash dirty linen all you want but not in public.
No it’s not spot on. Because if all everyone does in a family is shut up when actually abuse and toxic shit is going on. Then you have a shit family. A family is honest with each other even when it hurts. At Man Utd, the bosses never ever admit they fucked up.

I don't think they are lying to us. The assumption is that - regardless if Anthropic is able to recover it's investment - we'll soon get closer to people running their own llm or tokens being cheap. But the intention seems to be right (if the assumption holds)

Divorce is the death of a family. Your children instantly lose 50% of your time, often their house, every tradition, and even their past, as memories that involved both of you become increasingly unsafe to share around your new partners. In its place, they don't get two homes and two Christmases. They get awkward third spaces. Forever, even into the room where you take your final breath, they're left unsure how to negotiate the blending of outsiders into what was once their intact, perfect family. Sometimes this destruction is forced on you by a spouse's betrayal, or required to keep your children safe. But when it is chosen because the two adults just fell out of love, it is wrong. Divorce is an enemy that should be fought, never welcomed, never celebrated. Adults may drift apart.
The children are torn apart.

The focus is wrong. We should be focusing on good software, not good code. Where good means we can ship, maintain, operate and support the software in a manor that provides value to users and maintains data integrity, privacy and security.
it's very interesting how many replies i've gotten about maintainability and clean code being still important. i would argue that that is no longer true and we all need to update our priors on what Good Code really means in 2026. clean code has always come at a cost - performance. indirection and making code readable/understandable for a human is not free, it often comes at the cost of worse performance. we have historically been okay with this because of Moore's Law and the fact that most code is not on the hot path. these principles also came from a time where humans maintained code. it made sense to optimize for humans then, but it makes less sense now when agents are already writing all the code. we will in fact probably discover and come up with new principles: principles of agent friendly architecture (i plan to write more thoughts about this soon)

Shopify scaled without redis shopify.engineering/scaling-…
I got rejected for an SDE-2 role recently Problem: How would you handle stock during Big Billion Days so we don’t oversell a product that has only 50 units left. My answer: “I’ll use Redis with an atomic decrement. If stock > 0, decrement and create a reservation with a short TTL. Order gets created only after payment success. On payment failure or timeout, a background job releases the reservation. Also keep a DB as source of truth and reconcile periodically so Redis crash doesn’t permanently lock stock.” But then they asked: What if 10k hit Buy at the same second and payment takes 30s? Seems like they didn't feels good follow up response. What answer would you give to get selected?

I disagree with Pieter Only a small fraction of people are building personal software, and it’s mostly tech-savvy people or influencers who can post about it. For the vast majority of people, it often doesn’t make sense. Building software is still work that takes time, even with the most advanced AI models. You still need to think, debug, test edge cases and not giving up when it breaks. If it doesn’t eventually make money or reduce the amount of work a human has to do, it usually doesn’t make sense. By nature, people are lazy and don’t want to do more work than they need to. They prefer to delegate it to services or other people. Why do people hire housemaids when they could do more “personal” cleaning themselves? Because they want to spend their time on something more valuable: with their family, doing their job, or simply doing things they enjoy.
Software is dead It's now the era of personal software and everyone just builds what they need whenever they need it I think

A technology that democratises an industry is different from a technology that automates it. An analogy that fits software is dead is more like CNC replacing manual machining jobs(machinists)
This is the best analogy for the "software is dead" folks. I'm old enough to remember people claiming "photography is dead" even before mobile cameras became so advanced, when cheap digital cameras first appeared. "Everybody is a photographer now". But now there are 10x more photographers than 20 years ago
