I have some news for you all. Maybe you know I’ve been around for a long time and am completing my 4th year at Gnosis. Now I have a new role. I’ve joined the @etheconomiczone as a Coordinatooor, and I am incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity. Under the leadership of @koeppelmann, @tw_tter and @StefanDGeorge, we have achieved many successful projects at Gnosis over a long period. Now, with @jbaylina and @ziskvm team joining the Ethereum Economic Zone too, a dream team has been formed for me. What is @etheconomiczone? The Ethereum Economic Zone is an L1<>L2 framework designed to achieve seamless, atomic interoperability and shared liquidity by allowing rollups to execute transactions across multiple chains and the mainnet as if they were a single, unified network. It built around one principle: rollups that extend Ethereum, not branch away from it. The @ethereumfndn is funding this work. The EEZ is being designed as shared Ethereum infrastructure that is credibly neutral, not owned by Gnosis or any single entity. We are building this framework following the core values of Ethereum: free, open source, secure, with no central trust, censorship resistant, lean, and community driven. What will I do? My objective as Coordinatooor is to orchestrate the strategic expansion of the Ethereum Economic Zone, bridging the gap between individual contributors, developers and organizational partners such as chains, dapps and protocols. Rebind @getrebind will be one of the first partners to upgrade to Gnosis Pay's enterprise platform. Their current app went live in April. Since then users hold €6M in the app and have moved €30M in volume. In August they added Swiss francs via @frankencoinzchf, next to euros and dollars. Nethermind Client 2.0.0 is out. It changes how the node stores Ethereum's state: archive nodes drop from ~30 TB to ~2 TB, you choose the history you keep, and blocks process 2–3× faster than the previous release on a fresh node. We paved the way for client diversity, and then showed that Ethereum doesn’t have to be stuck at a 30M gas limit. Our mission is not complete yet. Next priorities: 1. Help bring post-quantum cryptography to Ethereum 2. Support Gnosis @etheconomiczone - the future of the L2 space 3. Participate in the ZK-Guests program 4. Leverage our top-tier formal verification and client teams under one company to build a formally verified client 5. Accelerate Ethereum strawmap and node development with AI and adapt to all challenges related to the new speed of development 6. Make the RPC layer more trustless, performant, and robust 7. Keep pushing Ethereum toward a stronger performance culture.

Arithmetic-friendly hashes have long been one of the weakest pieces of prover cryptography. With ZisK v1.3.0, we removed Poseidon entirely and moved to BLAKE3. What surprised us is that we got the same performance — or even better. After many optimizations elsewhere in the prover, hashing had become one of the most time-consuming parts of proof generation. BLAKE3 is more than an order of magnitude faster, making this cost almost disappear and largely compensating for the increased complexity of the recursion circuit. Getting there required a lot of re-engineering: circuit sizes, prover scheduling, and architecture all had to be reconsidered around the new trade-offs that BLAKE3 gives us. The final result surprised even us. There is a lot of focus today on binary-field proving. Binary fields attack the hash-proving bottleneck from a different direction, but introduce different trade-offs when proving regular arithmetic. There is a huge amount of research happening here, and at ZisK we are following it very closely. I'm genuinely curious to see whether binary-field architectures will outperform what we can achieve with the current approach — and how long it will take. So I like to think of v1.3.0 as setting a new target. 🎯 To everyone working on binary fields — and to all of us trying to make provers faster: let's see if we can beat it :) And we still have a few optimizations in the basket.

unified liquidity between L2s and Ethereum is such a big deal... it makes every single non Ethereum based protocol even more of a joke.

One step closer to trustless cross-chain batch auctions. @etheconomiczone & @CoWSwap will bring fragmented liquidity across stablecoins, RWAs, and beyond back together, without introducing a new validator set or trust assumptions...

Yes, you are heavily underestimating Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade. The gas limit increase to 200M means that Ethereum could theoretically already handle Base's average activity over the last few months (~16.7 Mgas/s). While we're not targeting that initially, there's lots of headroom for further increases in the months after Glamsterdam. IMO, this will strengthen Ethereum's role as the main DeFi hub, especially since scaling doesn't stop here. In combination with @etheconomiczone, it will also become the liquidity hub for L2s, bringing even more activity back to mainnet. @DeriveXYZ and others are already preparing their products for Ethereum season. Higher and faster.
