I don’t like that Christa Pike had to be injected multiple times and that she’s now in critical condition. It’s gruesome and unnecessary. That doesn’t change that the death penalty for murder is absolutely just. It is the only proportionate punishment for brutally crushing an innocent woman’s skull. She should have been executed decades ago.

I’m against the death penalty (and have been for decades) because:
1. No evidence it lowers crime or deters murder.
2. 4% of those executed are innocent.
3. It is cruel and unusual.
4. It is more expensive than a life sentence.
5. I can’t square it with my faith in Jesus.
