Europäische Abgründe!! Israels Premierminister Benjamin #Netanjahu wird in diesem Jahr der Zeremonie zum 80. Jahrestag der Befreiung des Konzentrationslagers #Auschwitz fernbleiben. Der Grund? Die Sorge, dass der Haftbefehl des Internationalen Strafgerichtshofs in Den Haag tatsächlich vollstreckt werden könnte. Diese Wendung der Geschichte ist so bizarr wie tragisch: Man stelle sich Netanjahu vor, wie er in Krakau landet, die Stätte betritt, die zum Symbol für die Vernichtung der Juden wurde – und dort, unter dem zynischen Schriftzug „Arbeit macht frei“, von polnischen Beamten verhaftet wird. Es ist schwer, den Gedanken zu ertragen, dass ausgerechnet der Regierungschef Israels, eines Staates, der aus der Asche des Holocaust hervorgegangen ist, nicht an einer Gedenkfeier teilnehmen kann, die das Leid seines Volkes in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Während deutscher Kanzler und andere Staatschefs unbehelligt erscheinen können, bleibt Netanjahu fern – eine absurde Situation, die ein düsteres Licht auf die internationale Bühne wirft.
