Sepang 🇲🇾 just proved yet again that every F1 is and was right, we never asked for an increase in street races that are shit, Miami and Madrid are the worst tracks in decades, it shows that old school legendary tracks give everyone the thrill they want, it also proved form is temporary class is permanent with Vintage Verstappen, Hammertime Hamilton and El Plan Alonso all being the best drivers as you’d expect, it also gave us more reason to ditch these embarrassing ai engines that are pathetic and actually cringe for the sport. Bring back screaming V8’s and bring back these old school tracks that create epic and memorable races, we will be taking about how good this race was for years, we forgot about the Madring before the checkered flag. #MalaysianGrandPrix 🏁

called an HVAC guy to replace a $40 capacitor on my air conditioner. quote came back at $680. i asked him how long the fix takes. he goes: "about 15 minutes." i said: "so I'm paying $2,700 an hour for labor?" he looked around and whispered: "i make $26 an hour. the private equity firm that bought out our family-owned business last year sets mandatory revenue quotas on every service call." then he showed me his tablet. if he doesn't hit $3,000 a day in upsells, he gets written up. the original founder ran that company for 30 years charging $150 a visit and built a great life. now wall street owns local plumbing, electrical, and AC contractors across the country, jacked up prices by 350%, and put working-class technicians on corporate sales commissions. you aren't paying for skilled trade labor anymore. you're funding a hedge fund's profit margin on basic home maintenance.

I lost my Dad on 9/11. I don’t get a lot of reach on here. But I just wanted to share a picture. He was 39. I thought he was old. I’m now in my mid 30s and I still feel like a kid. He was a great trader. He loved markets. He loved to find a stock no one was talking about. The first trade I ever placed was on his work computer, where he let me click the button to buy AMAT. I loved going to the office with him. It was electric. He was the best dad. We spent hours out in the street after dinner where he’d throw “pop flys” for me to catch. Eye on the ball. He loved watching Sponge Bob and eating cereal, wrestling with us in the living room. He just loved being around his kids so much, and we knew it. I’m so grateful I got a dad like that. Love you, Pops.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember and honor the 14 #FairfieldU alumni who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Today, the Fairfield community gathered for the Memorial Rededication to remember, honor, and reflect. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Instead of playing a divisional game at home they're flying 18 hours for no reason. I can't understand why they would be annoyed.

A self-inflicted wound: Americans now pay 75% more for aluminum than the rest of the world, and 64% more for steel. The price of protectionism is to drive up the cost of living for ordinary citizens and to destroy businesses’ ability to compete. wsj.com/opinion/u-s-canada-s…

With every update that Apple pushes to the iPhone it becomes worse. The photos/camera roll especially. I’ve had an iPhone since they were first released & can honestly say that as time passes, I hate it more and more.

NOAA launches the weather balloons, floats the ocean buoys, flies the satellites, and staffs the forecasters that tell us when storms are coming. That data supports about two-thirds of the economy, roughly $1.3 trillion a year, and it paid us back $73 for every dollar we spent on it. DOGE took a chainsaw to it anyway. They cut 2,500 people. They pushed out 27,000 years of experience in just a few months. Now a charter fishing captain in Homer, Alaska has spent half a season with no idea what the wind is doing in waters he fishes every day. Kansas got hit by two tornadoes nobody saw coming. Forecasters missed how strong a typhoon was as it headed for Alaska. Farmers, insurers, airlines, and city engineers are all working with worse information than they had two years ago. And now the Trump administration plan is to cut even deeper. They want to pull another $1.6 billion out of NOAA next year. They want to hand the rest to private companies, so your town ends up paying a business for weather data your taxes already paid for, with no promise it will even be right. Wrecking a 73-to-1 investment and sending the bill to fishermen, farmers, and families. Just crazy. forbes.com/sites/alanohnsman…

The city could be burning down, sirens could be screaming, and the neighbors could be loading the cats into the car, but this grass isn’t going to cut itself. I’ve got stuff to do, a mower full of gas, and a lawn that’s starting to look like it’s applying for wildlife refuge status. 😂

I’ve launched off the front of aircraft carriers hundreds of times, have a Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering, and am a test pilot and even I wouldn’t suggest to the Navy how to engineer specific systems on its ships. Donald Trump should stick to what he knows best — ballrooms, bankruptcy, and bullshit.
SCOOP: Trump has directed the Navy to tear out a complex system for launching fighter jets from its aircraft carriers and instead go back to using steam catapults, a move Navy officials have fought for years and will likely cost billions in extra dollars. U.S. officials say Trump signed a national security memorandum today directing the change, which would involve removing the electromagnetic catapult system used by the ships in the Gerald R. Ford class of carriers wsj.com/us-news/trump-orders… @MarcusReports
Community note
The full memo states that the Secretary of War shall provide the President with a PLAN to revert ONE future carrier, CVN-81, to steam catapults. It does not order equipment removed from any existing aircraft carriers. whitehouse.gov/presidential-a…
