When you get a few warm days into the end of September, it's always a bonus. As quickly as the air heats up in the day time, dusk brings a cool crisp breeze and the sun goes down too quickly. Last week, I was watering the garden when I noticed these little cotton ball looking bugs on the pepper plants. I thought they were aphids at first, but they are actually mealybugs. I sprayed them off with water and still need to check back on the plants to see if they are gone or if they brought friends. So to get rid of them, keep spraying the plants with a strong stream of water every few days, especially underneath the leaves and around the stems. Remove any bugs you see by hand, and check nearby plants since mealybugs can spread. If they keep coming back, use an insecticidal soap labeled for edible plants and follow the directions on the label.

When you get so worked up over something that never actually happened, but your brain already wrote the whole movie, cast the villains, and prepared closing arguments… And don’t you dare tell me I’m overreacting. But then they turn around and defend the same system’s ability to push narratives, half-truths, selective reporting, and outright fake news when it benefits their side. They may wear different colors, use different slogans, and argue on television like enemies, but too often they are protecting the same club. The biggest trick they ever pulled was convincing regular Americans that their neighbor is the enemy, while the people at the top keep getting richer, more powerful, and farther removed from the real world.
