Sharing our computer vision system design for TRON: Ares. We approached these shots from the perspective of the machine. The frame becomes a field of observation. Every pixel is potential information waiting to be interpreted. The process begins by squarepacking the live action plates, dividing the image into a computational lattice. Once the grid exists, the system begins to read. Targets emerge. Motion vectors form. Signals ripple through layers of analysis. Inside these overlays lives the source code of the system itself. Streams of logic, fragments of instruction, the internal language of the machine. At times the imagery dissolves directly into that code, as if the world itself is being rewritten from within. Visual information collapses into structure, then reconstructs again as data. Scanning pulses move across the frame. Timers react. Coordinates lock. Each layer is part of a larger ecosystem of perception, constantly processing, evaluating, and iterating. The goal was maximum detail and living systems. Interfaces that breathe, think, and evolve in real time.

The original Windows 10 wallpaper wasn't CGI, but a real photo with some incredible lighting effects. It took several weeks of planning and a team of 34 people to get this one photo for a simple desktop background.

Primitive energy, captured through glass and expanded into impossible scale. Fire without gravity. Combustion without boundary. A living element given a new geometry. For HOLOSPHERE 2.0, we captured fire at its source. Real flames were filmed practically through glass, bending and refracting into liquid distortions. Through the lens, individual flames stretched into sweeping arcs, turbulent currents and storms of combustion. Mapped onto the Holosphere, those fragments became something much larger. Fire wrapped around the thirty-foot sphere, folding over itself and disappearing around its curvature, transforming a small physical flame into something planetary. Somewhere between signal and thought, a pattern begins to recognize itself. Connections form. Constellations gather. Fragments of information move through an expanding field, finding relationships, reinforcing pathways, building invisible architectures of association and memory. What begins as pure signal slowly develops gravity, pulling distant ideas toward one another until information drifts toward intuition. Perhaps intelligence emerges somewhere within that accumulation, in the quiet transition between receiving the world and beginning to understand it. A glimpse into the dreaming machinery of TRON: Ares.

Someone smoked DMT out of a puma bone pipe in a cave at 12,600 feet in the Argentine Andes. In 2130 BC. That's the oldest confirmed evidence of psychedelic use on Earth — and the hardest thing I've ever typed.

Node in Palo Alto and Zero10 at Art Basel Miami were powerful reminders of how alive this space is, with exceptional digital works, thoughtful curation, and real community energy in the room. Seeing people gather in person, exchange ideas, and celebrate the work felt deeply affirming. When Nifty Gateway announced its closure, the community’s response, and Nifty’s willingness to listen and recalibrate, highlighted how much shared history and care exists here. The early Nifty era was a beautiful chapter for many artists and collectors, and one that feels worth preserving. Over the past year and a half, between an all-consuming film project (TRON: Ares) and welcoming our second son, I couldn’t be as involved here as I wanted.
