Most people outside Silicon Valley would find the "post-scarcity" society unbearable. People thrive when their find a sense of purpose in what they do. Doing nothing at home indefinitely is a human nightmare.
In this interview I tried to argue that a post-scarcity society will benefit working people. It was largely a rhetorical failure. People don’t trust that the benefits will be distributed, and tech optimists have to fix this communications issue.

I envision the world more like the Star Trek Universe. We work on things that enrich us as human while leaving the menial tasks and boring tasks to AI and automation.
AI just solved mathematics and people still think it's a bubble that is about to pop. Hint: the entire world is mathematics.

Superintelligence will cause MASSIVE problems as it enters society. And it will SOLVE THEM and dozens of others, rapidly, often ahead of them even presenting. More intelligence is BETTER. For what? For solving problems! Example: an adult takes bigger dumps than a kid. That’s moor poop! That means adults should be dirtier than kids! But adults also know how to wipe and flush. Result: more cleanliness by massive margins. Not less.

It's so disappointing to see people I know personally hop on games that have the generative ai disclosure on steam but it's so frustrating because I don't want to be that friend that constantly harps on about it 😭

LLMs are conscious too, by any reasonable definition. I’ll prove it. Just give me a reasonable definition of consciousness we can agree on.
Conciousness aside; modern AI/LLMs are intelligent by any reasonable definition. That discussion is over.

Something that can be turned off is not conscious, we don't even need to define it.
Hot take to anyone who doesn’t go outside, but the South is the least racist place in the USA. They programmed everyone to think it’s the opposite. A state like California is way more segregated and racist than one of those country ass hillbilly towns in the south….

Over the past year, at least 10 Black people have been found hanging from trees. Funny how most people have never heard of this huh? Black people don't hang themselves from trees, those were lynchings.

This is going to be controversial. I hate it myself. But I am beginning to fear that if I think things through to their logical conclusion, the only solution is to outlaw AI globally. With AI, the best case long term outcome is that we become "pets" of the AI. We eat, we sleep, we (maybe) procreate. AI takes care of everything. UBI to the max. That's the best case! The much more likely case is obviously far far worse. If there is a better realistic long term scenario, I would like to hear it. I really hope there is one.

Have you ever watched Star Trek? That is a universe with AI, the "computer" runs everything. This allows humans time to work on things to enrich their lives, for the most part. I like the Star Trek Theory.

Not really. Being introduced to it and learning even a little in 7th grade made me not so afraid of coding when I was older.

For all the Democrats out there pretending that Trump invited Iran to blow up American cities, I have a message: This is idiotic. Nobody believes you. This will backfire, just like the prosecutions of Trump and the raid on Mar-a-Lago. You just put the mid-terms in play.

Dear Young People, I'm sorry you can't afford to live. Your parents and grandparents thought it was a great idea to shut down the economy and print $6 trillion out of thin air, all for a cold virus with near zero percent mortality for you.

The wildest part in this piece is Bidens term printed 85% of every dollar ever created by the fed since 1913! I don’t know if this is an age bait topic. Just an informed or not topic.

This viral rumor is a distorted version of a statistic that actually originated during Donald Trump's presidency, which was then further exaggerated on social media.

Typical Dem. You don't just quote him. You take a sentence, strip away the surrounding context, and manufacture the interpretation you want people to have. Then, when someone points out that you're deliberately leaving out context, you pretend the argument was ever about whether Trump “says what he means.” It wasn't. Nobody is disputing the words. They're disputing your dishonest framing of the words. You can quote someone verbatim and still misrepresent what they said. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. Your side has mastered this bullshit because it’s the only way to manufacture your outrage. Strip away the context that explains what was actually said, isolate a convenient sentence, then pretend you’re too stupid to understand the obvious context. You don’t want the truth. You want the clip.
MAGA: “Democrats hate Trump because he says what he means!” Trump: “I wouldn’t care if Iran bombed Los Angeles and San Diego.” MAGA: “That’s not what he meant!”

Dear Atheists Please explain how the “meteor” hit all the dinosaurs but missed all the cavemen? I will wait…
Community note
The asteroid impact linked to non-avian dinosaur extinction occurred ~66 million years ago. No humans or cavemen existed then; Homo sapiens appeared ~300,000 years ago. usgs.gov/faqs/when-did-… nhm.ac.uk/discover/how-a… smithsonianmag.com/science-nature

I absolutely loathe trump but come on people he did not invite Iran to take out SD or LA, he was suggesting that it could've happened if he hadn't struck first. Now the Nebraskans cheering at the thought of two major US coastal cities being destroyed...yeah that's fuckin nuts
