The dilemma: If the Fed hikes it will worsen the interest expense problem (since so much borrowing is at the short end). If the Fed cuts it will worsen the inflation problem.

Gundlach's dilemma has a quiet third option. Keep rates a little below inflation and let rising prices shrink what the debt is really worth. Nobody announces it. Savers just pay for it slowly.

Jimmy, the money supply release yesterday is growing at about 5.5%. Velocity is stuck at 1.41, slugging to 1.50x, not sure we ever get there as so much of the Economy is mired in a combination of Communism, Socialism, and Fascism. Inflation is 3.5% to 4.0% for the foreseeable.

Terrible Yes… but the mistake that the debasement crowd makes over and over again is thinking that the downstream effects from this is imminent….. still could be many years away

So, a question I have been asking. If we are in a global debasement where the majority of currencies are being debased where does one find shelter in the storm? With AI and aggressive governments it seems nothing online or normal real property is save from the scavengers ?

Not yet. Central banks just pulled back liquidity after this weeks rate situation. Markets are on hold until this resolves

The other problem they are starting to see is that the Fed doesn't really control rates. They raised .25% this month and rates are up .6% give or take. People will eventually figure out the king has no clothes.
