. @FishLegal_ criticises the EA’s 2028 River Wye assessment deadline after a decade of legal action.
That would be 13 years from the binding 2015 commitment just to decide whether to seek stronger controls.
The Wye needs action now.

This is a truly shocking case, which I have some knowledge of. It is unbelievable what happened.
This morning I joined Heather Cornelius and Ryan Cornelius’ brother Chris at @10DowningStreet to deliver a personal letter from Ryan’s family, calling on the Government to do everything it can to secure his release from detention in the UAE. Tim Roca MP @Tim_Roca and Lord Clement-Jones joined us.
Ryan Cornelius must be freed and reunited with his family. We will not stop pressing for action until he is home. @FCDOGovUK @GMJCampaign

Trying to onboard my parents to ChatGPT desktop app and the separation between Chat, Work, and Codex and the lack of consistency across ChatGPT web, desktop, and mobile apps is all incredibly messy.
I think the team should do a clean up / quality pass or maybe ask Codex to do it.

Great win for Fish Legal and the ICO. One of the main reasons we have any sewage in river data is that FL won a very similar case against the water companies in 2015. Same principle. You can't avoid transparency just because you are a private company. cc @Feargal_Sharkey
. @FishLegal_ has won an important transparency ruling over Hinkley Point C.
The private developer must now answer questions about its cooling-water intake and fish protections, or identify lawful grounds for withholding information.

I was thinking this only today. Its highly frustrating. Its all disconnected.
it’s now unclear to me that even openai realizes how strange the distinction between chat & work feels in practice & how fragmented the entire chatgpt experience has become.
like if you leave it on work, every simple question or search becomes an expedition. it starts thinking, planning, & using tools when you just wanted a quick answer.
if you leave it on chat, the product feels increasingly constrained & legacy. you often can’t choose the level of intelligence you want, & the moment you need it to actually do something, you have to switch back.
so there is no good default. chat is often too limited for real tasks. work is too slow & cumbersome for normal queries. constantly switching between them makes the entire product infinitely more complex.
also the lack of sync between mobile & desktop plus what’s a local chat vs cloud chat is a mess. chatgpt went from the most usable simple consumer experience to confusing af in such a short period of time. pretty nuts.
