Men like @dalepartridge claim that Christianity is patriarchal, that the prophets were men (conveniently forgetting Miriam and Deborah), that the kings and priests were men, as were the scribes, the apostles, and finally, they claim that since Jesus was a man, that it proves that God is masculine, and therefore, Christianity is patriarchal, that is, created by men, led by men, and that women are the second-class citizens of the Kingdom of God. They would refute that definition, saying things like, "Women are equal in worth, but created FOR men." But that is essentially their point. Some go as far as to say that women are not created in God's image, since Eve was created from the side of Adam. Don't be sidetracked by the misleading rhetoric. Scripture was written and recorded during patriarchal eras, in patriarchal regions. Of course it reflects that bias! But throughout scripture, in both the Old and New Testaments, we see God using His daughters to advance His Kingdom, without regard to gender. Of course the 12 disciples were men, because that is what was necessary for a Rabbi to be considered legitimate. What they don't discuss is how often Jesus broke through patriarchal religious traditions by including women in His entourage, inviting them to be His students, being financially supported by them, and by trusting women with the greatest message of all time - that He had risen. In an age when women were not trusted to be witnesses within their culture, Jesus trusted them. He also shared the secret of who He was with the woman at the well, a foreign (Samaritan) woman no less! A woman He wasn't even supposed to speak to due to cultural customs. She became the first evangelist, telling her entire village that Jesus was the Messiah. When men (and even some women) choose to limit a woman's calling in the Kingdom of God, due to their gender, know this...it is NOT of God. Jesus told us that God is Spirit. He did not point out God's masculinity. Ladies, God continues to call His daughters, gifting them to work in His Kingdom. Don't listen to men (or women), who tell you otherwise. Listen to the Spirit.

In 2025 I will vote for the experienced @JustinTrudeau team that managed living next to Trump 2016-2020, then got us thru early stage Covid with 60% fewer deaths per capita than US did with Trump. I will reject and deny my vote to any Party with a foreign influenced leader.

Read that while I was among dozens of students stranded waiting for more GO busses as they're all full & there is no two-way all day GO trains yet--a decade old promise. If Ford really cared about congestion he'd focus on funding transit operations & finishing rail projects. 1/7
