12.7 million battery electric vehicles were sold globally in 2025. In 2010, the number was barely 10,000. In China, 1 in 2 new cars sold last year was electric. The transition is happening faster than almost anyone predicted.

If Putin had designed a robot to destroy America he could not have done a better job than selecting Trump....Think about it, then read the Mueller Report. Trump sought and received Russian help in the campaign. Then obstructed the Mueller investigation.

In 2017 we had Chinese businesses visitors over. I drove them around in my Model X. I thought they’d be impressed by an electric car, but they were mostly surprised how few there were on the road compared to China.

The scale-up is remarkable, but the bigger signal is China’s ~50% EV penetration now anchoring global battery cost curves and marginal lithium demand. The real risk is whether refining and permitting can keep pace with adoption.

Yesterday NPR ran a story about BYD's new "flash charging" technology, in which an EV can be charged from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. It's a pity that we don't have access to BYD cars here in the U.S., and that U.S. manufacturers are not on the cutting edge of this technology.

The China data is wrong Jan, 1:2 is NEV, which includes hybrids, pure EV is about 30%.

12.7M EVs sold, but where's the baseload coming from? We ignored nuclear for 50 years and now we're surprised the grid can't handle it?

"In China, 1 in 2 new cars sold last year was electric." No, it was NEV (NEW ENERGY VEHICLE) a China only classification, that includes BEVs, Plug In Hybrids, and Ranger Extenders; but not, I understand, your basic no-plug hybrid. China is doing well, but not quite that well.

Electric card will never be more than 11 percent of the fleet unless the government forces people to buy them. Which would start a war

The issue has never been with electric vehicles. The real problem has always been: 'Let the market decide' and stop the government coercion! Personally i think people are crazy buying lithium-ion EV when sodium-ion batteries are set to be released this year, and are much better

So electricity is cheap at its first time as main source of energy, but doesn't mean it will be cheap in the future. As I see,the electric vehicle market's overmatured&now in a pace to decline as the cost rises quickly and the shortage obvious for long time use.
