Britney Shki-Giizis "Beetle" - the former captain of the Canadian army, stands today on the front line in Ukraine🇺🇦🫡
Brittney, call sign "Beetle," is a Canadian volunteer. She previously trained Ukrainian tank crews on Leopard 2 tanks but eventually concluded that her expertise was needed more at the front line than in rear-area training centers.
Serving with the 25th Brigade, she quickly learned to operate the T-80 tank. On her very first combat mission, her crew destroyed a group of Russian infantry and a fortified Russian position near a railway station.
As the focus at the front shifted from heavy armor to drones, "Beetle" retrained for the new role.
Today, she serves as an FPV drone operator in a tank battalion's UAV platoon.
She recently undertook an eight-kilometer trek to evacuate two fellow soldiers. The journey was extremely dangerous—vehicles exploded nearby, the evacuation vehicle was destroyed by enemy drones, and Brittney had to spend the night in a tree line while waiting for another transport.
The mission was successful.
Brittney a former Canadian Army captain and volunteer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains on the front line today, defending Ukraine.🇺🇦
