Hey, Sawyer: Keep this October 2024 article in your back pocket when you're confronted by misrepresentations about the Biden economy. And point out to your opponents that Trump found the answer to the question posed by the writers.

"But Trump’s done a hell of a lot to save America." Er, no. Trump supplied the answer to The Economist writers' 2024 question by sabotaging the US economy.

Our US press did a terrible job of explaining how well the US was doing economically just before the 2024 election. The UK press was more informative.

"tough times need to be gone through to get to good times" Nope. We had to go through the 2024 good times to get to the 2026 tough times. In late 2024, The Economist writers couldn't predict the destructive power of Trumpism.

The US regained the world's respect after the Bush debacle when Obama came into office. We an hope for a similar rebound if a competent and honest president follows Trump.

Let's also remember that the US economy was doing great in the fall of 2024 heading for the election. A pity that our feckless press here in the US couldn't be bothered to keep us informed.

A pity our feckless US press didn't keep US voters informed, but left it to the foreign press to tell the story.
America was STRONGER under @JoeBiden. Period. The numbers don't lie. The revisionist history won't change it. 🇺🇸

Remember, those supposedly "sane networks or news organizations" refused to inform the US public how well the US economy was dong in the run up to the 2024 election. Voters would have had to go to the foreign press to get good information.

"At least he'll be good for the economy" A condemnation of our news media, which failed to inform the US public just how good the US economy was in the run up to the 2024 election. The foreign press was a much better source of information.

Just as absurd is the claim that the Biden economy was failing.
Gas went up under Biden because Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Then they gradually went down in 2023/2024. Gas then went back up because Trump started a war of choice with Iran that he’s losing after being persuaded by Netanyahu and Hegseth. Blaming Biden right now is absurd.
