I’m not familiar with Terry Newman but I have access to the column via Apple News. Here’s the rub: the handbook is extreme to the point of self-parody. It makes the NDP seem like conservatives! Its politics likely won’t be taken seriously by a strong majority of students.

It’s concerning that someone has threatened violence against Muslims in our city (Vancouver). No community in Canada should be targeted with violence and I hope that police are able to prevent violence (and arrest whoever made the threat).

Once again Yves Engler proves his own bigotry. He filmed himself repeatedly asking a Jewish MP if he was a “Genocidal Jewish Supremacist.” The best thing the federal NDP did in its leadership race was barring him from being a candidate.
I stand by every word that I said here. By the way, this is the 100th time that Yves Engler has accosted me and he still can’t spell my name right. His research skills are remarkable.

To be clear: I disagree with the nations that walked out on his UN speech today, and I’m glad 🇨🇦 did not join them. Those nations showed disrespect to 🇮🇱, not to Bibi himself. I do not want Bibi to be tried by a biased ICC; he’ll be judged by 🇮🇱 voters (and 🇮🇱 courts).
10/7 happened on Netanyahu’s watch. If Mossad passed along intelligence pre-10/7, why didn’t he heed it? If Bibi had done his job to counter Hamas propaganda over the past 3 years we might have fewer ppl like Mamdani spreading “genocide” lies. 🇮🇱 deserves better leadership.

Though I’m not Jewish, my maternal grandmother was partially descended from Spanish Sephardic Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism by Spain’s government (my other 3 grandparents were of English and Irish descent). #antisemitism was real back then and it’s real today.

When “Pro-Palestine” protestors demonstrate outside of a Yom Kippur service, they do nothing for individual Palestinians while showing that they do not care about their Jewish neighbours/ fellow citizens.
I guess it’s just a coincidence that pro-Palestine protesters happen to be demonstrating in front of a Jewish religious service, the morning after a shootout at a synagogue in Belleville
