We condemn the repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, where hundreds of Palestinians were killed and injured by Israeli strikes over the weekend. International humanitarian law must be upheld. Civilians must be protected every where, at all times.

“We are the future builders of Gaza. How can you build a future when nothing is available?” questions Jana, 15. Across Gaza, the war devastated children's lives and their education - but children are eager to learn. UNICEF and partners have launched a Back to Learning programme aimed at restoring access to learning for hundreds of thousands of students. Children in Gaza need long-lasting peace and safety to access opportunities for their future.

On Monday, I visited a school in Jericho. It once served 140 children from nearby Bedouin communities. Now classrooms are empty as families had to leave due to repeated violence. Children’s right to learn must be protected.

At today’s Foreign Affairs Council, I made clear to all 27 🇪🇺 ministers: the ceasefire is fragile. Aid must urgently reach Gaza at scale. All crossings must reopen. The NGO registration process is a major obstacle to deliver help. @eu_echo has to be allowed to return to Gaza.

In the aftermath of a consensual #FAC exchange, our partner @UNICEFpalestine has 1,300+ trucks, funded partly by 🇪🇺, loaded with baby food, winter clothes, hygiene kits & educational supplies ready to enter #Gaza. I reiterate safe & unimpeded access to deliver this aid into Gaza.

It is unconscionable that over 45 children have reportedly been killed in airstrikes in Gaza in two days. This should shock the world but is largely met with indifference.  Nowhere is safe for children in Gaza. This horror must stop.

I try not to share videos of starving children, but when UNICEF does it's because they're desperate to get through to people and save lives.

Children in Gaza are again at risk of famine with access to food and life-saving aid blocked and health systems decimated.
 This is a manmade crisis. We need a ceasefire, full aid access to Gaza, the protection of children, and release of hostages. NOW unicef.org/press-releases/ri…

Blocking aid starves civilians. It leaves them without basic medical support. It strips them of dignity and hope. It inflicts a cruel collective punishment. Blocking aid kills.

UNICEF joined President @EmmanuelMacron & UN partners in El-Arish to highlight urgent needs of children & families in #Gaza. As children continue to bear the brunt of the conflict, we emphasized the need for renewed ceasefire, release of hostages, & allowing aid entry at scale.

Two million people trapped with no access to aid or assistance. Tens of thousands of dead people. The wounded. Orphans. This is the reality in Gaza today.

In #Gaza, @UNICEF is delivering life-saving CPAP devices to hospitals, helping vulnerable newborns, including preterm babies with underdeveloped lungs. These machines give preterm babies a fighting chance, but more are needed.🚨 Aid crossings must reopen. #ForEveryChild, Health

This week, @UNICEF delivered baby kits for the newly delivered mothers in hospitals in northern #GazaStrip. These kits will help prevent cold injuries and hypothermic cases among #children. #ForEveryChild, Health

.@UNICEF delivered lifesaving supplies to hospitals in #Gaza, including respiratory machines, monitors & incubator lamps which are critical for newborns survival. But only a lasting ceasefire & aid entering at scale can help address the needs of 1M children #ForEveryChild, Health

Meet Sham, 7, evacuated from #Gaza to Romania by @WHO, with support from @eu_echo, for specialized surgery and rehabilitation after an explosion severely injured her leg. She waited five months for medical evacuation. Thanks to the Romanian government’s support, Sham has recovered and can walk again. Approximately, 11,000–13,000 people in Gaza, including 4,500 children, still need medical evacuation. WHO continues to call for increased approvals through all possible routes, including the restoration of medical referrals to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. @WHO_Romania @romaniaineu @GuvernulRo
