🧵 I spent some time with my #ai asking it to come up with a politically unbiased opinion on UK taxation & welfare. - Genuine protection for those unable to support themselves. - Most hardship is temporary. - Support to re-enter workforce. Goal: Fewer benefit claimants

Man who cries that someone has unfairly made claims about Fairford terror attack - makes claims about Fairfird terror attack…? Make it make sense
So is anyone from Reform going to have the courage to hold their hands up today and say “OK. We got it wrong on Fairford”. Farage. Tice. Jenrick. Yusuf. Any of them?

You are of course WRONG. Not because the triple lock is a great idea - it isn’t. What IS a good idea is incentivising Brits to secure their own future and retirement without punishing them. Personal responsibility ALWAYS wins
The Triple Lock should be abolished asap. It would be welcome and brave if @andyburnham announced that at #LabourConference today. But it will not and should not pay for free at the point of use social care. The savings from abolishing the Triple Lock would be touching the sides of replacing current private contributions for elderly social care. And we cannot have an entitlement for the older population funding yet another entitlement for the older population. The State Pension is welfare. It is the biggest expenditure line of the @DWP, representing around 46% of its total budget. Scrapping the Triple Lock should only be the first step towards reforming the State Pension. The State Pension Age should be raised to 70 asap and it should be means-tested. The successful introduction and expansion of government-subsidised auto-enrolment for private pensions justifies these reforms to the State Pension. Me for @TalkTV

Serious question to all the people that vote labour. After the disastrous last couple of years of a labour government, can you tell me why you are still voting for labour.

Sometimes war is necessary: All war should be as brief as possible. You either participate FULLY and end it, or you don’t get involved at all. This idea we have to drip feed funding and weapons forever is the GRIFT. #ProveMeWrong
It's not just Jacob Ress-Mogg that wants your children to die in a war, it's Nigel Farage too....

Uk Policing is attracting individuals who desire power without competence. Squashing your fellow humans rights to “have a bit of influence/control” is quite desirable 😵‍💫😑
Why would the police turn on their own people? It makes no sense.

Important Polling idea! 🚨 Can we all just agree when ANY pollster reaches out you say you’re voting Labour? Hear me out; Burnhams popularity is already inflated IMO. Push it higher and he’ll call a #SnapElection. Then be a good fellow and vote @reformparty_uk ✌️😎

Furious, yes Mishandled, yes Tougher borders, yes Yet you do NOTHING about it. But that man a beer.
You can be furious about illegal migration. You can believe the small-boats crisis has been catastrophically mishandled. You can demand tougher borders. But what exactly is achieved by taking a knife to an inflatable dinghy in the middle of the Channel while a rescue worker is still standing on it? Hampshire Police say they are now conducting enquiries into footage relating to damage to the boat by Danny Tommo - or as his mum calls him, Daniel Thomas.

Not for a second 😑
Does anyone seriously believe small boat crossings are down? An enfeebled, cowardly state has utterly failed in its duty to protect our country. And the people won’t stand for it any more. From Piddington to Braintree, from Gosport to Portsmouth, the British are doing what their government won’t. A historic act of resistance has begun.

Still baffled why anyone has faith in @Conservatives?
The Tories are today re-announcing a welfare plan so weak the Lib Dems could have authored it. Why do they lack the courage to cut the benefits bill by even half as much as Reform’s £52 billion plan? The Tories still refuse to adopt Reform’s policies to: - End ALL foreign citizens accessing benefits - Make those claiming benefits who are fit and healthy work in their community for 20 hours a week - Eradicate the doubling in fraud and error Can Kemi really not get her backbenchers to sign off on proper savings? The truth is their fake “policy commissions” do not exist. Never did. They haven’t done the work. Their welfare policy is two and a half pages long. And it shows. Their announcement today doesn’t show any workings because their costings are badly wrong. They seem to assume that each of the 350,000 affected claimants is currently receiving the UC standard allowance for a single over-25 adult and that, therefore, each person moved to the Subsistence Allowance saves the exchequer £1,530 (350,000 x 1,530 = £535 million). But a large proportion of UC claimants receive smaller standard allowances, because they are under 25, in a couple, or already subject to sanctions. Moving these people onto subsistence allowance would therefore save less than £1530. Similarly, they have not accounted for the new incentive for people to move to health benefits, which are exempt, nor for the administrative cost of this system. The real saving would be more than £100 million lower. It was a nice attempt, rustled up in panic after Reform laid out our detailed plans. But only Reform have done the work to find the savings, which is why only we can raise the tax-free personal allowance to £15,000.

Reforms record may be short, but I wonder how many Tory voters in Wandsworth wish they had them in charge…
Before asking Londoners to pay more, councils should be able to explain where every penny is going. Londoners pay enough. They deserve far better value for their money.
