NEWS: A 34-year-old woman accused of fleeing a Charles County traffic stop before a deadly wrong-way crash in Brandywine was wanted on more than 20 active warrants across Maryland and Virginia, according to new court records reviewed by 7News. Police identified the driver as Miya Stringfield. Authorities say the warrants spanned Arlington, Fairfax, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, Anne Arundel and Frederick counties, with several involving felony theft offenses. Maryland court records reviewed by 7News detail alleged thefts from Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Macy’s and TJ Maxx totaling more than $10,000 in merchandise, not counting cases in Virginia or Frederick County. Police say Stringfield initially sat in the passenger seat during the Aug. 25 stop, then allegedly climbed into the driver’s seat, pushed past an officer and fled with another passenger still in the car. Deputies later ended the pursuit after seeing the Toyota traveling the wrong way on Crain Highway. Seconds later, it crashed into two vans near McKendree Road. The back-seat passenger, 33-year-old Alexis Monique Cummings of Temple Hills, later died from her injuries. Stringfield was seriously injured. The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division is still investigating the fatal police-involved crash.

This exchange with Abdul El-Sayed was brutal. An Iranian-American man told him his cousin had been hunted by the IRGC and his uncle had been sentenced to death. Then he asked one simple question: Do you unequivocally stand against the IRGC? Instead of giving him a straight answer, El-Sayed started talking about America being the “world’s policeman” and regime change. The man literally had to ask him again. When somebody tells you what their family suffered and asks you to condemn the people responsible, that shouldn’t require a foreign-policy seminar. (The Jerusalem Post)

Price gouging at the pump has gotten completely out of hand over the years. Oil drops, but somehow gas never seems to fall nearly as fast. Then the second oil jumps, the price at the pump shoots up overnight. Funny how that works. Americans are getting squeezed every time they fill up while somebody farther up the chain keeps making a killing. Enough is enough. It’s time to put a spotlight on the whole system and finally get this under control.

NEWS: The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial is now making a serious allegation about the rest of the jury: Michael Desronvil says jurors had their phones with them during deliberations and that some were using social media. That matters because Clancy’s defense had already asked the judge to investigate Desronvil’s own cellphone use, arguing he may have violated court rules during deliberations. Desronvil’s new claim turns that issue around and raises the possibility that improper phone use was broader than one juror. The trial ended in a mistrial after an 11-1 deadlock, with Desronvil the lone juror favoring conviction. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29 on the defense’s post-trial motions. The key point: the phone and social-media allegations are not yet established findings of juror misconduct. They are claims that could become significant if the judge investigates and corroborates them.

This is the tip of the iceberg for fraud waste and abuse by our government. Not enough taxpayers are mad enough yet to vote these crooks out of office.

Some people see oil hit $100 and immediately start screaming Trump’s name. Maybe tell the whole damn story. He’s dealing with a major conflict involving Iran while one of the most important oil shipping routes on Earth has been disrupted. The EIA says disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz have directly contributed to higher and more volatile crude prices. That’s kind of an important detail. You don’t have to like Trump. But if we’re going to compare presidents, compare the circumstances too. Quit with the selective outrage and just be truthful.

Chris Van Hollen apparently believes refugee policy is compassionate only when the people coming here fit his preferred narrative. The administration says Afrikaners face racial discrimination, property threats and politically charged violence; South Africa disputes that they are systematically persecuted. Meanwhile, Trump has sharply restricted the broader refugee program and carved out a major exception for Afrikaners. Call that policy selective if you want. But “global apartheid” and “Trump only wants refugees who look like him” is just race-baiting dressed up as humanitarianism. Van Hollen doesn’t get to decide which racial groups are allowed to count as victims.
