🇨🇳🇺🇸🇮🇷 Xi is pushing Trump toward something unusually concrete on Iran: go back to the June deal.
According to Chinese state media, Xi told Trump he supports Washington and Tehran returning to the MoU that halted fighting, reopened Hormuz and began negotiations toward a permanent settlement.
That agreement eventually unraveled. But its basic architecture never disappeared. Iran has continued to argue that the MoU remains valid. And China has publicly urged both sides to return to it.
Beijing matters here for more than diplomatic decoration. China is Iran’s largest trading partner
Now Xi is pointing to the one plan both sides already signed.
