A glowing projectile streaks up out of the dark, spitting sparks and wailing the whole way. #3: Under a tree, this one lifts off and blows out into a shower of white glitter that fills the screen. #2: A wrapped rocket-style tube gets lit up close and launches in a jet of sparks, zig-zagging and shrieking, and then a shower of orange sparks lights up the ground. Cue the "Damn." #1, THE WINNER: An orange-capped tube strapped into a pipe-and-stick launcher. Interesting day at the liquor store today. At 11:30am AT&T suffered a large outage in the Atlanta area and we lost internet. Estimated time for repair: 10-13 hours. That means no card or digital wallet payments. Cash only. Signs were deployed on the front door and inside the front door to that effect. Cash only. Internet down, no card payments, no ATM on site. But that lovely segment of society that goes through life not reading signs didn't read the signs, as people who don't read signs do, and came in to shop for their favorite intoxicating liquor anyway. I spent more time restocking items taken off shelves by that amazing segment of society that realized at the cashier that they couldn't pay for it, so they got mad and just left. We should have given our cashiers free booze for after work just for having to deal with these gems.

Europe is going to freeze to death and they probably deserve it.
