The more time I spend on X, the more convinced I become that America's gravest national crisis may be the failure of its public education system. The sheer inability to reason, distinguish facts from opinions, recognize contradictions, or understand basic economics is staggering. And the most alarming part is how confidently so many people demonstrate it.

Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act in March 2010, guaranteeing you cheaper insurance, more competition, and the ability to keep your doctor. Premiums for individual plans more than doubled between 2013 and 2017. Deductibles climbed so high that millions of technically "insured" Americans still skipped medical care because the out-of-pocket costs were prohibitive. The government mandated what your insurance must cover, forced healthy young people to subsidize older high-risk pools, and then expressed genuine surprise when prices spiked. Prices always tell the truth. The 2009 stimulus, officially $831 billion, operated on the Keynesian assumption that government spending creates wealth. Government spending transfers wealth, first taxing or borrowing it from the productive sector, then routing it through political channels where efficiency is nobody's personal concern. The "shovel-ready jobs" Obama later joked about produced no measurable acceleration in recovery. The recession that followed 2008 should have cleared in 18 months, as previous sharp downturns historically did when left alone. The Obama recovery took a decade and delivered the weakest GDP growth of any post-war expansion on record. Dodd-Frank, signed in 2010, weighs 2,300 pages. Community banks spent compliance budgets they never had, and roughly 1,900 small banks vanished between 2010 and 2016. The big institutions that actually caused the 2008 crisis absorbed the regulatory cost with ease and used the new complexity as a competitive moat. Regulations written by large players consistently protect large players. The middle-class small-business owners who needed credit found fewer lenders willing to offer it. Obama also expanded drone warfare to seven countries, assassinated American citizens without trial, and extended the surveillance state through a reauthorized PATRIOT Act, which undermines any libertarian's case that the Democratic Party is less hostile to civil liberties than its competition. Then there was Cash for Clunkers, which destroyed 690,000 working cars in 2009 by crushing them with sodium silicate. Mechanics lost parts inventory. Buyers on a budget lost affordable transportation. Prices for used cars spiked. You paid more so dealers could move new inventory. A generation of voters watched the government spend $5 trillion across two terms, nationalize health insurance markets, regulate finance into oligopoly, and print money through three rounds of quantitative easing that inflated asset prices and rewarded those who already owned property. You paid higher premiums, earned lower real wages, and watched your savings earn nothing in a deliberately suppressed interest-rate environment. The bill always arrives later. You see the ribbon cutting and the document signing, but you feel the damage to your pocket only years later.

Starting today, LA County ties for the highest baseline county sales tax rate in the entire United States at 10.25%. Lancaster and Palmdale, where many of my friends and people I know already struggle to make ends meet, sales tax is now 11.75% - the highest in the state. I still just don’t understand how we keep voting to continuously give more & more money to our local government while services continue to get worse, our politicians continue to give more of our money to their friends, and fraud goes unchecked. How does this actually help everyday Angelenos who have both mom and dad working and sometimes it’s not even enough to support their families? This is not helping our kids. It’s not making schools better. It’s not making roads better or helping with public transit. It’s not making us safer. It’s not making housing more affordable, or food, or gas or utilities. Why do we keep voting for more and more tax increases and worse and worse politicians?

This isn't an argument. It's a tantrum dressed up as economics. “How many mansions do they need?” None of your damn business. Property rights don't expire when Bernie decides you've accumulated enough. Notice the trick: wealth becomes “greed,” confiscation becomes “compassion,” and spending other people's money becomes “solidarity.” And billionaires spending millions to stop politicians from taking billions isn't greed. It's defending their property. The question isn't how many yachts they need. It's who appointed Bernie to decide how much of someone else's property they're allowed to keep.
California’s Billionaire Wealth Tax: Healthcare vs. Greed On November 3rd, at a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality, the people of California will decide whether to pass a 5% wealth tax on more than 200 billionaires in California who are worth $2.2 trillion. This initiative, known as Proposition 40, would raise enough revenue to prevent 3 million working-class Californians from losing the healthcare they currently have as a result of Trump’s so-called Big Beautiful Bill. Last year, these billionaires became $500 billion richer. As a result of a rigged tax code, they pay a lower effective tax rate than a plumber or a nurse. The greed of these billionaires is really extraordinary. Instead of paying their fair share of taxes, billionaires are now spending $229 million — 0.01% of their wealth — to oppose a 5% tax on their wealth. The effort against this initiative is being led by the 4th wealthiest man in the world, Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google, who is spending over $100 million to defeat it. If the California billionaire wealth tax is passed, Mr. Brin would owe $13.5 billion more in taxes. But don't feel sorry for him. He would still have $256.5 billion left over to feed his family. (And don’t let him fool you into thinking he left the state. Mr. Brin owns at least four mansions in California worth some $103.5 million. Tax experts have made it clear that he would owe this tax.) It is also being opposed by Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Larry Ellison, Eric Schmidt and Peter Thiel. These 5 Big Tech billionaires are worth over $646 billion combined. Dangerously, many oligarchs today believe that they have the divine right to rule and that they are masters of the universe. They live lives completely separate from ordinary people and are obsessed with becoming even richer and more powerful than they already are. The result: They would rather let people in California suffer or die because they can’t afford to go to a doctor than pay their fair share of taxes. Let's be clear: These billionaires have more money than they could spend in over 100 lifetimes. How many mansions do they need? How many yachts do they need? How many private jets do they need? So today I say to the billionaire class: Control your greed. Show a bit of compassion to working families and their kids in California. Instead of spending $229 million on TV ads against this wealth tax, I have a better idea: Start paying your fair share of taxes. In 1933, Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said: “We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we cannot have both.” What Justice Brandeis said was accurate 93 years ago. It is even more accurate today. Our job now is to tell the Oligarchs in California that we will no longer tolerate their insatiable greed. We will choose healthcare for working families and their children over obscene wealth for the richest people in the world. Let us stand together in solidarity. They have the money. We have the people. Let's win this struggle.

People talk past each other for at least 200 years about this. That's because they are looking to solve different problems. Capitalism is an answer to a question what happens if free individuals are left alone to pursue their interests and realise their abilities by doing something that others might find useful. Leftism is about a claim that incapable, ill, aged, or unwilling to work nevertheless still have the right to exist and survive, or even to equally thrive, or exceed, or rule. There is no other way for that except by taking away from others.

Reason #88,737 the private sector generally outperforms the public sector: A big reason government is so often incompetent and counterproductive is that it spends much of its time doing things it has neither the knowledge nor the incentives to manage well. And even if bureaucrats somehow possessed perfect knowledge, imposing a universal solution on millions of people with different circumstances, absent individual choice, is inherently prone to failure. Private markets allow competing solutions, experimentation, feedback, adaptation and, most importantly, the freedom to say no and choose something else. Government typically offers one politically determined solution and makes everyone live with it. The private sector can fail. The difference is that failure creates pressure to change or disappear. Government failure too often becomes the justification for a larger budget.

How many of you are disgusted by the following? There are states that DO fund this insanity with taxpayer money — and states that DON’T. And the difference between them is night and day. States that DO fund gender‑affirming care through Medicaid These are the states that think mutilating kids is “healthcare” and want YOU to pay for it: • Colorado • California • Oregon • Washington • New York • New Jersey • Massachusetts • Maryland • Illinois • Connecticut • Rhode Island • Vermont • Maine • Minnesota • Michigan • Nevada • New Mexico • Delaware • Hawaii • District of Columbia These states are run by people who should NEVER be called leaders. They’re not leaders — they’re pathetic losers who got into office because other pathetic losers voted for them. States that DO NOT fund it (2025 bans/restrictions) These are the states that said NO — states that actually protect kids and don’t shove this insanity onto taxpayers: • Texas • Florida • Georgia • Alabama • Tennessee • Mississippi • Louisiana • Arkansas • Oklahoma • Kansas • Nebraska • South Dakota • North Dakota • Montana • Idaho • Utah • Arizona • Wyoming • Kentucky • Indiana • West Virginia • South Carolina These are the states with real leadership — people who actually stand up for families, sanity, and basic common sense. Colorado should be on THIS list. But it’s not — because the people running this state aren’t leaders. They’re not even close. All right, I’m going to be very blunt, And if you choose to stay home and skip this election because you’re one lazy fucker, then YOU are contributing to this child abuse. YOU are contributing to the destruction of our state. Don’t cry later — you helped it happen.

Milton Friedman said something in 1978 that would get him canceled twice on X today. "Consumers do not create inflation. Producers do not create inflation. Inflation is produced solely by excessive public spending and by excessive money creation by the government, and by nothing else." His argument was simple. Nobody outside government owns a printing press. Businesses can raise prices, workers can demand raises, oil producers can hike costs, but none of that spreads through the entire economy unless the money supply grows fast enough to pay for it. A price spike in one sector is just prices shifting around. Sustained inflation across everything only happens when there's more money chasing the same output, and only one institution controls how much money exists. Half a century later, economists still argue about how much blame belongs to supply shocks versus the printing press. Friedman never said supply shocks don't matter. He said they don't explain why prices keep climbing everywhere, every year, without stopping.

MUST WATCH: We spoke with three J6ers who were relentlessly persecuted by the Biden regime "I lost everything. Could never be made whole. But as I move forward, I have God's grace." "They came and did a SWAT-style attack on my wife and kids at our house, and it was crazy." "If we leave government tyranny unchecked, with no accountability, it's going to happen again." Make no mistake, if Democrats win, they will target Conservatives again with politically motivated lawfare. They are literally open about their plans. You must vote. We cannot let Democrats win.

"We could balance the federal budget if the only dollars that went out of the treasury went to individuals who were properly, lawfully, correctly eligible to receive them." This should infuriate EVERY taxpayer.
